Agree With Your Adversary
Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him, lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison – Matthew 5:25. Having to have the last word doesn’t make a person smart, but when we’re quick to hear and slow to speak, then we’re walking in wisdom. As born-again Christians, we must be aware of our adversary and know when he is using people. We’re not fighting against flesh and blood, but we’re fighting against Satanic influences. Satan will use people to get you frustrated, aggravated, hurt and angry, and if you haven’t been delivered from profanity, you will be cursing. Satan’s goal is to keep you from having a relationship with your Heavenly Father, and he will use people to carry out his plan. A soft answer will always turn away wrath; a person will not argue if he or she doesn’t have anyone to argue with them. When you know you’re right, you don’t have to prove your point, sometimes in following peace with all men we will have to walk in humbleness in our spirit and if it takes being wrong when you know you’re right, be wrong; so you can live according to the Word of God, and in doing so, you’re allowing God to fight your battle.
