For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (2nd Timothy 4:3-4). It’s difficult to accept correction, to be told we have to change. The Word of God is our instructions for living according to the Word of God, there is no other way around it. Either we will live according to His Word or we will reject His Word, we can’t live in between, it’s either holiness, being separated from the world or living a life of hypocrisy. Many times Christians will seek out churches that will give them a good feeling, indoctrinating them to think on the things of the world rather than thinking on heavenly things. This world, will one day pass away, Jesus is on His way back for the church, and He is coming for a church without a wrinkle, blemish or a spot (That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish – Ephesians 5:27). Wrinkle meaning we should be filled with His Spirit, flowing in righteousness like running water. Spot, we shouldn’t have any defect (nothing lacking in our spiritual walk. Nothing defecting our spirit by our emotions, nothing that would be a disgrace. Blemish, meaning faultless through our righteousness in Christ Jesus when we have submitted ourselves to God and His Word.
