Sluggard

The soul of the sluggard (lazy) desireth, and hath nothing, but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat (rich) Proverbs 13:4

People who desire to grow in the knowledge of God, will sacrifice time to read and study the Word of God. The sluggard will always have an excuse for why they aren’t growing spiritually. They desire to grow spiritually, but they will not take the time to examine the Bible for themselves. They will not take the time and pray and get to know God for themselves.

They heard about God, but they haven’t had an experience with Him. Fellowship brings knowledge, prayer brings relationship. To know Him, you have to read of Him, to hear Him, you have to talk with Him. To have an experience with Him is to go through test and trials and allow Him to deliver. When we  take the time to pray, read and study the Word of God, our emotions will not be on  a see saw, because we will be rooted and grounded in Him and His Word.
