Reaping What You Think

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth,

that shall he also reap – Galatians 6:7

It’s a law of life, both physical and spiritual, that you reap what you sow; every action has results.  If you plan to please your desires, you’re sowing to the flesh; and you’ll reap a crop of sorrow.

Take time and think of what kind of seeds you are sowing in the soil of your life. How can your body be healed, while there is anxiety in your mind? As long as there is dis-ease in the thoughts, there will be a disease in the body.

Ten minutes of unbridled temper can waste enough strength to do a half day of work. Our physical energy is a gift from God, entrusted to us to be employed for His glory. It’s a sin to take His gift and dissipate it through the trapdoors of the evil emotions of the disposition.

Our biggest enemy is our thoughts. Thoughts that are contrary to the Word of God are thoughts Satan influences to bring the person into the bondage of their thoughts.

We can’t keep thoughts from coming, but we can not let them set up residence; when we do, we’re welcoming them. We will continue to think about the thought then we will carry out the action, whether it’s spoken or physical.

We cannot risk giving our thoughts free rein. They will never choose the right path until we bridle them and control them by our own disciplined will.  We are the master of our own bodies; we don’t have to invite into our minds the foul birds of evil thoughts and allow them to nest there and bring forth their young.

Whatever we sow in our secret thoughts, that’s what we will reap.  Sow love and kindness, and we shall be rewarded openly. Sow charity and forgiveness, and we will reap in kindness. Sow generosity and gratitude, and we shall never feel poor. Sow hope, and we shall reap fulfillment. Sow praise, and we shall reap joy and well-being and strong faith. Sow bountifully, and we shall reap bountifully rather it’s good or evil, we shall reap what we sow.

The Bible admonishes the believer to think about things that will bring sobriety to mind. When a person is drunk, he or she will not think; clearly, they might just do anything they normally wouldn’t do when they were sober.

When we fill our minds with offenses, unforgiveness, and hurt, it brings forth roots that go down into our innermost being and will produce bitterness, hatred, and other ill feelings that will produce all types of sickness and diseases.   We have been instructed to think on things that bring forth life (Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things – Philippians 4:8).  When we think about these things we surround ourselves with God’s peace, we must occupy our minds with the right things and busy ourselves with the right activities.

Many professing Christians are visiting counselors, and those they are receiving counseling from aren’t Christians. A Christian counsel will pray for you and with you. They will not only give you the book knowledge they learned, but they will give you godly counseling that will heal the mind and soul because they have a relationship with God.

How can someone counsel a Christian when they don’t have a relationship with God? The majority of counselors don’t reverence God, nor do they believe in God. Watch who you allow to counsel you! When a godly counsel counsels you, you will not have to continue to go to their office for months and years, because they will pray for you and bring you out of what’s causing you to be imprisoned in your mind and emotions.

Thinking about thoughts that bring sadness and hurt will keep one in bondage. Yes, we face reality, but we don’t make our thoughts our buddies; misery loves company, pity like you to party with them, don’t give them an ounce of your time!

Unforgiveness and offenses will also place us in prison in our emotions; we can’t get delivered from the bondage until we forgive from our heart. We have no right to hold on to unforgiveness and offenses. Jesus forgave and saved us; if He can forgive and release us, surely we can do the same.

When a thought comes to your mind, that’s contrary to what God has instructed you to think on, pray, pray, and praise God until the thought becomes subject and submissive to the prayer and praise. Satan is the influencer of bad thoughts; Jesus has given you authority to rule over him and his co-host.

You have been brought with the precious blood of Jesus; Satan has not and can not do anything for you, but send you to hell because of your thoughts and actions. The Bible admonished us to resist him, and he will flee. Are you resisting him, or are you allowing him to have a field day in your thoughts?
