I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said it is more blessed to give than to receive – Acts 20:35
The majority of the time, when we hear the word give, the first thing we think about is money. Money is good in its respective place, but it’s more to life than having money. There are billionaires wishing they had the joy born-again Christians have, but they can’t buy it. Peace doesn’t come by money, it comes by having a relationship with the Father and Son.
Yes, as we see people who are in financially need, it doesn’t hurt to bless them with a monetary gift. We can give more than just money. We are giving when we make someone smile, or ask them how they’re feeling. We give when we take the time and listen to someone who needs someone to listen to their story. We give when we take time to pray or fast for someone. We give when we encourage someone. We give when we give our time and money.
When asked to give, we should pray and ask the Father what should we give, and He will prompt us in our spirit what to give.
To give is to give forgiveness as our Father forgave us.
