Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger – Proverbs 19:15

Slotfulness can cause one to be spiritually dead even though they have accepted salvation.

In order to have a relationship with someone, we must spend time with them to get to know them to build a relationship that’s either naturally or spiritually.

How can one fall in love with someone when we don’t know them? In order to know them, there must be some time spent with them. In order to know the Father, we must spend time in His word and time with Him in prayer. As we spend time with the Father, we’re building a relationship, we will sensitize our ears to His voice, and be able to discern His voice from our spirit and the voice of Satan’s voice. Who we submit to is who will be a servant to.

Slothfulness can cause us to be spiritually blinded and hearing impaired to the voice of God. God is His word, and His word is God speaking. Take time and read the Bible, memorize scriptures, take time and talk to God without asking for anything. This is building a relationship.  God loves to hear our voices, praising Him, telling Him about our day and concerns. Just as we talk to a friend, we can talk to God, building a relationship with God can be very rewarding and joyful.
