The Place Where God Can Be Found

Yet if they bethink (come to themselves) in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn (repent) and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, we have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly. If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name. Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their  prayer, and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee – 2nd Chronicles 6:37-39

Attending church services is very important for the believer. It’s a place of refuge, a place of peace, a place of strength, a place where we gather with other believers, touching and agreeing for what we need from God, as well as a place where we can hear from God.King Solomon prayed this prayer as he dedicated the Temple to God, that prayer wasn’t just for them, but it’s for everyone that has become a spiritual Jew. The circumcision of the heart, in the spirit, and not just a church attendee. Some may say, why should I attend church, I can pray in my home? The church is a place where God has appointed for every believer to be at one time or another. Sure, we can pray in our homes and receive answers to our prayer request. We can also look at different churches that are televised, but it’s nothing like being in a church gathering where the Spirit of the Lord is moving among the people. That is why, the pastor, ministers, deacons, altar workers, and musicians should be in a place in the Spirit where they can assist those who are in need of prayer and deliverance, and being able to counsel them by the Spirit of God, not their emotions or their experience, but by the Spirit of God.

Sin is a condition we all share, no one is exempt. Sin can occur other than just physical, but we can sin in our thoughts, emotions, as well as our belief. Then there are those who have gotten themselves into sin and don’t know how or have the strength to get out of their sin. This is why every believer should be in their position, ready and prepared to deliver those who are bound. Sometimes a simple prayer is not enough when someone is in bondage and a spirit has them bound with fetters and chains. They must be prayed for until the spirit looses them, but you don’t see that much in our churches anymore.

The church is where God dwells if the place has been dedicated to Him; if the church is directed by His Spirit and not a program. Thousands are sitting in church bound by sin, engulfed with emotional hurt, no peace in their mind, or spirit. The church should be like a surgeon, he sees what needs to be cut out, and he goes directly to the spot. This is the same way the pastors,  ministers, men, and women of God should be. We should be able to discern where a person needs to be delivered by the Spirit God and command the spot to be destroyed.

The church is a place where we can go and hear from God. It’s a place where we can go and be truthful to ourselves and confess our sins before God; and when we make peace with Him, He will bring deliverance. He will give peace. As believers, we must get rid of the fault-finding, criticizing, high-mindedness, hidden sin, and be filled with the Spirit of God in order not to condone sin in ourselves or anyone else. We have to get in a place where we can be used by God, anytime, anywhere, any place and yield to how He wants to use us. When we do this, the Spirit of God will begin to hover in our congregation, then attending church will not feel like we’re just doing our Christian duty, or we just left a social gathering. Anytime the Spirit of God enters the building, people lives will be changed. They will be encouraged, directed and given instructions.  They will be given strength, a tenacity to grow spiritually no matter what it takes. The church is where God should be found and His manifestation moving among us.
