Giving

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk – Acts 3:6

The Beautiful Gate was an entrance to the Temple, many people passed through it on their way to worship. The lame man was begging where he would be seen by the most people. He had an encounter with Peter and John and his life was changed.

We may not have silver and gold and riches, but we have something much more than money can buy and can’t buy. We have the God of all creation as our Father. The man who was at the Beautiful Gate was waiting for someone to come by and give him alms. He didn’t receive money, but he received prayer and healing. We may not have silver and gold and riches, but we should be able to pray for someone.

We should be able to encourage someone, we should be able to show love towards everyone, and especially those who everyone else have given up on. As we walk uprightly before God, we can use the name of His Son, Jesus, to bring healing just as John and Peter did through the name of Jesus. God doesn’t have certain people He wants to use, He will use anyone that will submit themselves to Him. Jesus’ name is powerful, it can do what money can’t do.
