It’s The Anointing
But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you, but as the same anointing teacheth you all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him -1st John 2:27
The scripture doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have ministers to teach us. If that was so, Jesus wouldn’t have anointed and given us apostles, teachers, evangelists, pastors, and prophets for the equipping of the saints and the work of the ministry.
The law for the consecration of priests required an application of blood and oil to the right ear, thumb, and big toe of the one consecrated. Anointing stressed the need for salvation (blood) and the anointing of the Holy Spirit (oil), that the believer might hear the Word of God (ear) to do the work of God (thumb) and to walk in the ways of God (toe).
The disciples after working and being taught by Jesus was informed by Jesus to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise which was the receiving of the Holy Spirit. Only then were they able to do the work of God after being filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus which is the Son of God, didn’t do any miracles or healing prior to Him receiving the Holy Spirit (And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water; and lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him – Matthew 3:16). It’s the Holy Spirit that anoints to minister, it’s the Holy Spirit that gives us revelation of the word of God, it’s He that teaches us. Salvation without being filled with the Holy Spirit, isn’t profitable to those in ministry to minister to others. It’s the Holy Spirit that indwells individuals as they minister to bring it with an impact to destroy, heal, exhort, and establish. It’s the Holy Spirit that assists us to discern what is the word of God, the move of God, the Spirit of God. We need more than the Spirit of God to come upon us, we need Him in us!
