Above all taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (wicked ones) Ephesians 6:16
The Bible compares some of the trouble we go through as a dart. A dart is something that is small, but powerful enough to hurt. It’s a sudden movement; the person isn’t aware of it being shot or where it may come from. Just as God needs a vessel to bless and encourage, Satan needs people to hurt and discourage. This is why the Bible has instructed us to put on the whole armor of God and taking the shield of faith so as Satan and his co-host and followers come against us, we will be to able withstand the attack without losing faith, doubting or backsliding. We must stay connected to the Father and the only we can do this is by praying, fasting, reading and studying His Word.
Christians are soldiers, vessels of honor to be used by God to bring glory and laboring with Him to bring others to the kingdom of God. We have an adversary whose main goal is to destroy, he’s the father of lies, and he comes to steal, kill and destroy. He brings thoughts that bring pain and sorrow, regret, offenses, unforgiveness. He throws darts of sickness and diseases, he attacks our mind, our emotions. He destroys marriages and relationships between parents and children and other family members.
We can’t be doing patty-cake prayers and lay me down to sleep prayers. We have to stand up and pray prayers he will submit to. Prayers that will cause heavens host to come and aid us. Satan never warns you he’s attacking you, as Christians, we have to be prepared whenever the attack comes. The darts Satan throws is pointed and painful, it’s meant to stop our faith, stop us from praying, stop us from having happiness and joy. The Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword, it will cut the power of Satan. You’re in the army of God and you must know how to fight Satan, keeping in mind you’re not fighting flesh and blood but a spirit, the Word of God is spirit and it is life. Have on your armor; have your loins guarded with truth, have on the breastplate of righteousness, your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, have the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the Sword of the Spirit that is the Word of God.
Satan uses people, don’t argue and fight with people, confront the ungodly spirit that is controlling them and you don’t have to speak it out loud to the person, remember you’re confronting the spirit, not the individual. You can pray silently with authority with the Word of God and the name of Jesus. Remember, the spirit you’re confronting is not deaf. As Christians, submitted to God, He has given us all the power we need to fight Satan (Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you – Luke 10:19). This authority wasn’t just given to Jesus disciples of the Bible, it was given to every born-again Christian.
If you are led by the Spirit of God you are sons of God no matter what your gender may be. If the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised Jesus shall also quicken your mortal body to give life and produce life and destroy the darkness that’s in your life. Don’t wait until you’re hit with the dart, you should already have had a consistent prayer life. This is why you can defeat Satan when you have a continual connection with the Father and that comes by prayer, reading and studying the Word of God as well as fasting. Every time you go to God in prayer, you’re wrapping yourself with the garment of righteousness, you’re gaining new strength, stronger faith, and Jesus walking with you through your journey.
