Inward Power

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water – 1st John 7:38.

When you think about a river, it’s a study flow of water that never stops; water will give life and water will destroy.  Water is very important in our day to day living.  Enough water will destroy anything that comes in its paths. That’s what the Holy Spirit will do in us, it will destroy bad habits, lying, cheating, anger, and anything that’s contrary to the of God. The Holy Spirit will destroy every spirit that is contrary to the Word of God that abides in our flesh. The Holy Spirit is like a river, it runs continually, it never stops, but we can get insensitive to Holy Spirit through our disobedience.Without the Spirit of God living within us, we couldn’t make it through the trials and tribulations we go through.  It’s through the Spirit of God we’re  able to continue to separate ourselves from the things of the world.  It’s through the Spirit of God we can discern good and evil. It’s through the Spirit of God we’re able to understand the Word of God. It’s through the Spirit of God we can operate in the gifts of the Spirit as well as the Fruit of the Spirit. It’s through the Spirit of God we can discern Satan’s spirit operating through our love ones and others as well as ourselves.  If we don’t have discernment, we will try to fight with the flesh,  we’re not fighting against flesh, but evil spirits assigned to an individual to come against us (Ephesian 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places).

Too many times we as Christians try to fight flesh with flesh and when we do, we’re the ones who have to repent for saying or doing something God has commanded us not to do. We’re not fighting against people, we are fighting against demonic spirits influencing people in their behaviors and character.  As long as people continue to look at Satan as an old wise tale, we will continue to fight against people rather than fighting against the spiritual wickedness that resides within them.  God has given us inward power that will triumph over Satan if we have God’s Spirit living within us. Too many Christians try to live a Christian life within their own strength when it should be through the strength of God that resides in them ( But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth – Acts 1:8)

It’s through the power of the Holy Spirit which is God’s Spirit living within us that enables us to have a relationship with God.  According to the Word of God, “Those that worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth”.  God does not communicate with us through our physical ear or our intellect, but He communes with us through our spirit. We’re spiritual beings with a physical house which is our bodies. We contact God’s Spirit with our spirit through His Spirit.  With God’s Spirit living within us; we should be confident at all times that He hears our prayers and at His appointed time, our prayers will be answered.  In order to succeed naturally and spiritually, we have to know that God is on our side, we have to know Greater is He that lives in us that he that lives in the world. We have to know that God is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord God who heals. We have to know within ourselves we cannot fail with God on our side.  No matter how many times you may have fallen in sin, get up, repent and wipe yourself down with the Word of God and rededicate yourself to the Lord.

If we focus on who lives within us and our limited strength, we will realize we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  Stop allowing Satan to confuse your faith, God takes care of His own. Remind yourself just as a good father takes care of his child, God will do the same and more because He is our Heavenly Father.  There is an inward witness enabling us to know we are children of God. There is an inward power within us to help us not to revenge ourselves. There is an inward power that will enable us to help and love those who took our love for granted, abused and misused it because it was no longer us that lives, but the Christ that lives within us assisting us to be like Jesus.  No matter what we have been through, we haven’t been through anything like Jesus did, but yet when they whipped Him from hall to hall; His flesh being ripped from His body, a crown of thorns on His head, carrying His own cross to be nailed to the cross, yet He asked the Father to forgive them, and we too should be saying the same thing to the Father for those who have wronged us.  If we cannot forgive as Jesus did, then we need to go back to the Father and ask Him to take us to the potter’s house and mold and shape us until when He looks at us, He will not see us, but He will see His Son in us.

The inward power will assist us, to tell the truth even if it hurts.  The inward power will enable us not be jealousy of our sisters and brothers, but to rejoice with them as they rejoice.  The inward power will not allow jealousy or envy to control us.  The inward power will help us to present ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and submitted to God.  The inward power will give you joy when all hell has broken loose around you.  You will rejoice when you should be crying. The praises of the Lord will be in your mouth.  Thanksgiving will be flowing in your heart when prayers have not been answered because you know faith is not what you see, but what you don’t see.

Inward power will allow you to speak and pray the Word of God and He will watch over His Word to make sure they come to pass.  Inward power gives you connection with the Father and the Son.  When God looks at you; He sees the finish work, not the work in making!  The inward power is the Spirit of the living God living within your being, if you don’t have Him, you need to pray and ask the Father for the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is a gift and He will give it to those who ask for it and has forsaken the world to live in the Spirit.  We are in the world but are not of this world and because we’re not of this world, we’re  seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness( And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight – 1st John 3:22).
