Temple of God

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them: and I will be their God and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, said the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you – 2nd Corinthians 6:16-17

As  Christians, we should live a holy life that reflects the nature of God.  He or she should separate themselves from actions, influences or people that will contaminate them.  A Christian should apply biblical principles to their lives daily.

As Christians, we’re  the vessels that hold the Spirit of the Living God in our physical bodies. Under the old covenant, God’s presence dwelt in a tent, today He dwells in the believer’s physical body (Jesus answered and said unto him, if a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode {home} with him – John 14:23). God has given us a free will, and He will never make us do something we don’t want to do although He’s living within us.  If we really love Jesus the way we proclaim we do, our focus would be on pleasing Him and the Father. Because we have the Holy Spirit living within us, we should be mindful of what we listen to, what we look at and where we go. When our actions are opposite of what the Bible has instructed us to do, it grieves the Holy Spirit.

There are countless of churches throughout the cities and neighborhoods, and most Sunday’s the churches are filled; the problem is, the majority of people attending church is still living according to the world standards. Our music has become so secular until the Spirit of God is not visiting our churches for us to receive a manifestation of His power and to feel His glory.  Our musicians are playing for the church and for the clubs, some are confused about their identity.

Some of the choir members are sniffing, drinking, and puffing as well as having un-martial sex. The spiritual mothers of the church are too weak to birth spiritual babies. Some of the Deacons in the churches have become like Lode-Bar, dry with no life springing forth.

Attending church and hearing good music and a great choir is not enough if the Spirit of God is not giving a visitation.  Satan has fooled so many Christians that when they attend church and hear a good sermon or good music and the choir sings and a few people get happy, they have had church.  When the Spirit of God enters the room, the atmosphere changes and so do the people. There is no way we can come before the presence of God and continue to live a life of hypocrisy and carnality.

Many churches are having social gatherings, but the Spirit of God is not in the place. People come in the same and go out the same way they came in because the Spirit of God isn’t abiding in the people, church or the ministers to make a change in the life of the people.  In order for God to live in us and move within our church, we must come subject to the Word of God in our daily life. We must not have any other god, meaning anything or anyone we place before God.

Many churches have been overtaken by the spirit of the Pharisees and Sadducees, a religious spirit. When John came informing the people to repent, the Pharisees and Sadducees were included. It’s a hellish thing to know the Word of God and rejects the teaching of the Word of God.  God holds us responsible for what we hear and what we have been taught.

The reason Jesus died was to reconcile us back to God, but to also give us power over sin, ungodly behavior, and influences. There is a negative power and there is positive power. Those who are born-again Christians are housing the Spirit of God within them; so when they come together in worship, it provokes the Spirit of God to enter. When you have a church full of people professing to be Christians that haven’t been filled with the Holy Spirit and living double lives, it provokes the spirit of Satan and his hosts to visit. That’s the reason why there is so much division in the body of the church – leaving it powerless. God has not changed, just as He moved in the church of old, He will do likewise with us when we commit ourselves completely to Him.  It takes time for God to impart in our spirit, but if we never spend time with Him other than at church, we’re missing what God has for us.  Some Christians spend more time on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and watching ungodly television programs more than they spend time with God.  They have made other things their god and God has instructed us not to have no other gods before Him.  It’s a sad thing when professing Christians never read their Bible until they attend church on Sunday, and even then, some don’t have their Bible.

It doesn’t take a long prayer, Christians should have daily prayer as well as time in reading the Word of God.  If we would commit ourselves to 10-15 minutes of prayer daily, we would see a difference in our character and spirit.   The more you pray, the more we become connected with God. The more we praise the Lord the more His presence will be with us because He dwells in the praises of the saints.

Whatever or whoever we’re spending the majority of time with is what will manifest itself through us. Carnality will send you to hell just as an unbeliever; no matter what sin has been committed.  If we continue in sin, we’re hell bound. We belong to God, He gave His only Son for our sins, we have a life contract with Him and we must follow the rules of the contract to receive the benefits that go with the contract.

Christians shouldn’t reject or look-down on unbelievers neither should we be running buddies with them. We should live a life without words that will declare we are the sons and daughters of the Most High God.  The Bible has instructed us to be separated from the things of the world, God didn’t leave us the Bible to collect dust, it’s our instructions to enter into the presence of God, and it’s our instructions to enter into heaven (Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world; the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world 1st John 2:15-16).  Dedicate a time you will spend with God in prayer, take time to read His written Word. This is how we get to know what is expected of us as Christians, this is how we connect with the Father, prayer and reading His Word will change our appetite for the things of the world.
