Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven -Matthew 5:14-16

Can you hide a city that is sitting on top of a hill? Its light at night can be seen for miles. If we live for Christ we will glow like lights, showing others what Christ is like. His fruits should be manifesting through us daily. Loving everyone, and not condoning their sins. No matter what is going on in your life, if Christ is living within your being, you will have the joy of the Lord no matter what is going on. Peace will be within our being when others are in frustration and anger. Longsuffering with everyone and not just with a few people, longsuffering brings out what’s really in the heart of an individual. Gentleness is the character of our Savior, and as Christians, we should be showing gentleness to others. Goodness abounding in us when no one else is around, what we could do, we don’t do because His fruit is being manifested in and through us. Having faith to move mountains and giants that try to take our peace, the strength to fight the good fight of faith no matter what life brings.

Light penetrates the darkness, God refers to the believer as light, Christians are the ones to be an antidote to the sin that is bombarding the world. We can’t be a witness if our actions are as the world. God has given us the inward power to refrain from sinful actions, that’s if we have given ourselves completely to the Word of God. Unbelievers need us to minister to them, not by words but by our lifestyle. If our lifestyle is different from theirs, we will be their light to guide them to the Lord. If our lifestyle is producing darkness which is contrary to the Word of God, we can’t be a light, and we’re bringing a disgrace to Christianity. Whether Christians know it or not, what we do, affect other believers testimony, the world place all Christians in a bag and what they see through our lifestyle they think all Christians are alike whether it’s bringing forth the glory of God or hypocrisy.

As Christians, we are to be the light of the world according to our Father. We can do that and bring glory to God. When we talk to others about Him, it will be affected to change their life because we have aligned ourselves with the Word of God. Let’s be a light and not bring confusion to what real Christianity is.
