How to Handle Pressure

And let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not – Galatians 6:9.

In today’s uncertain world, many are under a lot of stress and pressure, and the way they react to that pressure determines whether they will succeed or fail. Many in the Christian community can’t handle stress or pressure or adversity. As long as everything is going fine and Satan isn’t exerting to much pressure on them, they are okay, but the minute they encounter problems, things don’t fall into place as they hoped they would, they begin to doubt if God is on their side.

God never promised every day would be a day of happiness, this is why the Christian has been instructed to put on the whole armor of God because the Father knew we were going to be in a spiritual battle with unseen forces. Some stresses and pressures come with life, but others are an attack from Satan. Whether it’s life or Satan, we must be able to overcome pressure instead of pressure overcoming us.

As Christians, our weapon is prayer, praise and God’s Word (Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee – Isaiah 26:3). Prayer gives us a covering, praises attack the enemy and glorifies God. God’s Word is a sustainer. As long as we focus on who we serve rather than the attack, God will keep us in perfect peace when Hell has broken lose around us. Don’t focus on the negative, focus on God gracing you to over-come what has come into your life.

To arise above pressure, you have to think about the right things. You must replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts. Your victory in the midst of the storms is determined by how well you can control your thought life. When negative thoughts come; replace them with the Word of God (Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things – Philippians 4:8). What you think will bring victory or defeat.

In this Christian walk, it’s a daily fight to do, say or think the right thing. Nothing has come into your life that God is not aware of it, He has given you the tools to defeat the enemy. What’s impossible with you is possible with God! Pressure and stress come with life, but God has given you His Word to defeat the enemy and the thoughts that come to bring doubt.
