Forbidden Fruit

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die – Genesis 2:16-17.

From the beginning of the creation of man, God communed with His creation. Mankind was created to worship and serve God as well as reverence Him. The rebellion began in the Garden of Eden when God instructed Adam to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Everything Adam and Eve needed was already prepared for them in the Garden of Eden.

It was Adam’s responsibility to instruct his wife of the commandments God had given to him. The Bible didn’t say it was Adams’s “friend” or a friend with the benefits of marriage, Eve was Adam’s wife. Both of them were godly having the wisdom and knowledge of God, their spirit wasn’t tainted with sin. God gave Adam the responsibility of naming every animal that was in the garden, but the serpent influenced Eve that they needed more.

The serpent influenced Eve and Eve influenced her husband to eat of the forbidden fruit. Satan is still influencing God’s creation that they need more than what God has given them and because they are being influenced by Satan many children are without fathers because they didn’t submit themselves to God and allow Him to bring the man or woman He has chosen for them. God never gives His people less, but the best if they’re willing to wait for His gift. Women have walked out on their husbands because they wanted more than what God had given them. Men have divorced their wives and lied on God saying “He said the wife they had, God said wasn’t his wife He choose for them”.

Sin causing one to be alienated from God; sin is anything that the opposite of the instructions of God written instructions for His people to comply with. We can’t practice sin and have a relationship with God, God hates sin, not the individual, but what they practice. Sin is what kept generations of the Israelites from entering into the promised land, and it will keep professing Christians today from entering into the promised land of heaven.

Because of their disobedience, Adam and Eve brought spiritual disconnection between them and God. Not only were their disconnected, but they were driven out of the Garden of Eden (So he drove out the man, and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim’s and a flaming sword which turned every way to keep the way of the tree of life – Genesis 3:24). Disobedience caused them to no longer have the fellowship with God as they did in the Garden. Yes, God loved them, but the fellowship had been dissipated because of sin.

Sin causes one to be spiritually deaf to hear what God is saying but in tune with what Satan is influencing them to do. When we truly accept Jesus as Savior, we also accept Him as being Lord over our lives. Jesus came to destroy the bondage of sin in our lives. He and He only can change the heart of sin to a heart that will submit to the will of God.

No way can someone come in contact with Jesus and stay the same. He changes our desire for the pleasures of the world. That’s why He instructed the professing Christians to not have fellowship with the world (Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you – 2nd Corinthians 2:17). The world’s standards and God’s standards are different, His standards are holiness and their’s are ungodliness.

Take the time to pray, read the Bible, study the Bible and see what is and what is not acceptable to Him. What He says to do, do it; and what He says don’t do, stop doing it. Sins of the world are not lasting, but if your soul enter hell it’s for eternity.
