Anchor

Anchor

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye be rooted and grounded in love. Maybe able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:17-20).  To be rooted  and grounded in love is similar to an anchor, it’s holding on to God’s word no matter how the enemy may fight you in your mind with unbelief. When we place our faith like an anchor, the Father gives Himself to us like an anchor.

A anchor is a heavy object, usually an iron weight with flukes, lowered from a vessel to prevent drifting. It gives stability; a anchor supports, safeguards, gives security, protection, and defense. An anchor does what God will do for those who places their faith in Him. So many times we place our trust within ourselves and we make ourselves god over our life and situations. There is nothing to hard for God, what is impossible with man, is possible with God. God is the one that can heal a broken heart, diseased and sickly body, regulate a confused and troubled mind. God can heal and restore a marriage, open doors of opportunity that will bless you because the blessings of the Lord will make you rich and He will not add any sorry to it. When we try to bless ourselves and allow Satan to bless us, sooner or later sorry will prevail  in what we thought was a blessing.

As Christians our faith must be anchored in God, and not in what we see, feel or hear.  Without faith according to the Word of God, we cannot please God and this is why Satan comes to steal and kill our faith in God. The Bible is a book of promises to those who will place their faith in God. Anytime you place your faith in God, you will be tested. Faith is what you know of God and not what you have heard of  Him, hearing and knowing is two different things. When you know Him, it’s faith, when you hear of Him, it’s belief. Abraham knew God, and his faith was in God and not what he was hearing  of Him. When you experience something for yourself, that’s what you will have faith in.

Mind of Christ

Mind of Christ

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus  (Philippians 2:5).                                                                                                                                                  Mind – To obey, be under the authority, to do as one is told. To give one’ attention,  to be attentive. Jesus mind was to please the Father, He didn’t come to earth with His own agenda, but came to do the will of the Father. Jesus was our example of how we should be as children of God. Some may say, living as a Christian is hard, but that’s opposite of what the Word of God says, the bible instructs the way of  a transgressor is hard (Good understanding giveth {gains} favor: but the way of a transgressor is hard – Proverbs 13:15).If living as a Christian according to the Bible is hard, it’s only because the individual hasn’t made up their mind and they have a poor understanding of scripture.

Dying to Live

Dying to Live

Some men’s sin are open (clearly evident) before hand, going (preceding) before to judgment; and some men they follow after (later).                            1st Timothy 5:24   Paul was  instructing Timothy not to be hasty installing men into office, but to carefully examine each elder candidate, his true character and fitness for office to be determined. Many times people are placed in offices they should not be in because their spirit nor their character is in line with the Word of God. Leaders are to be  an example  to others as well as those that are professing to be Christians should live a life by precept and example of the Bible. Paul instructed the believer to follow him as he follow Christ. Many are standing in the office of a leader and they are directing people straight to hell because of their opposite teaching of what the Bible has instructed the believers to live.

Three Things God Cannot Do

Three Things God Cannot Do

God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good  (Numbers 23:19). Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever (Hebrews 13:9). But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimestone: which is the second death (Revelation 21:8).

There is three things God cannot do: He cannot lie,  He will not change, and He will not allow sinners into heaven. The Bible is God’s spoken word to the believer, it’s our responsibility to search the scriptures,  learn them and  apply them.

Power In the Name of Jesus

Power In the Name of Jesus

And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple. And he gave heed unto them expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth raise up and walk (Acts 3:2,5,6).

Peter and John were on their way to the the temple to pray, but as they were entering the temple there was a man there asking for alms who had been lame from birth. This man was brought by someone daily to the gate of the temple to ask for alms. When the lame person saw Peter and John, he asked for alms, but rather than receiving money, he received healing. The man and whoever was bringing him there, had more trust in him receiving money than for his healing, if not, rather than bringing him to the gate of the temple they would have brought him to the temple where they were praying.

Peter didn’t ask how long he had been waiting at the temple gate, but he looked at the man’s need, and used what he had received of God to bless the lame man by having faith that when he prayed in the name of Jesus, God would hear the prayer and answer his request. Jesus told the disciples prior to His departure to ask the Father in His name, and it would be granted (And in that day ye shall ask me nothing, verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it you – John 16:23). In faith, Peter prayed for the man, and the man received healing through the powerful name of Jesus. God honors His Word, and Jesus was the Word that became flesh (In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God – John 1:1, And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called the Word of God – Revelation 19:13).

Every Christian that has been born of the Spirit of God has the privilege to use the name of Jesus and God will honor the prayer. Jesus instructed His disciples then and now to ask the Father in His name. When we ask in the name of Jesus, then Jesus will take up the prayer and ask the Father on our behalf (At that day, ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you – John 16:26). The Father always hears the prayers of Jesus. Too many times our prayers aren’t answered because we’re having faith in doubt and unbelief. When we go to God, we must have faith that He is hearing and will answer our prayers as we pray according to His will, what is His will?  His will is for the unbeliever to be saved, His will is for the believer to receive the Holy Spirit. His will is for His children to be healthy, soundness of mind. Marriages with joy and not just coping. His will is for His children to be successful naturally and spiritually. So when we pray, we must know what His will is, and as we pray according to His will, our prayers will be answered.

In order to receive salvation, one must believe in the Lord by confession, one is not saved by his mouth’s confession, but the mouth testifies of the grace of God in Christ which has been received by faith (That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation – Romans 10:9-10).  Healing can be brought about by using the name of Jesus. The man that  was lamed from birth was healed by the name of Jesus (Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk – Acts 3:6). That name can be used now just as it was then when a person is lame. The lame can be addiction, sickness, disease, spiritual bondage, confusion, you name it, Jesus name can destroy it or build it .
