I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1:18) Jesus is the only one that has died and came back to life and communicated with His people. Some have said, their father, mother or a love one that has dead has visited them, but this is not biblical according to the teaching of Jesus, Lazarus came back to life after Jesus raised him from the dead, but other than Jesus and Lazarus, no one else has or will return from the dead to communicate with the living (Luke 16:26, Ecclesiastes 9:5).
Hell is just as real as heaven, if it wasn’t so, it wouldn’t be in the Bible. The prophet Isaiah mentions that hell has enlarged itself, the Apostle Mark states, it’s a place where the fire never stops and the worms never die, its place where no one desires to go. Hell is place the Bible indicates the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters and liars and all those who reject the Word of God will be in the lake that burn with fire and brimstone.
It’s our Christian responsibility to pray for those we know that are living in rebellion and disobedient to the Word of God, they can’t pray for themselves unless they have a repentance heart (John 9:31 – Now we know that God heareth not sinners; but if any man be a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth). A worshiper is not someone who sings, it’s those who worshiper Him in spirit and in truth.
Every Christian should have a prayer list, a list of people they call out to God for salvation. We have to go before God for those who cannot enter into the presence of God, we are the priest that can enter into God’s presence and petition God for the unsaved for their salvation with sanctification. As Christians, we should be like our Father, we shouldn’t want to see anyone go to hell, its place where the spirit never dies and the individual is conscience of what’s happening to them. The next time you think you don’t have anything to pray for, think about the souls that are hell bound if salvation with sanctification doesn’t come into their life.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God (Hebrews 4:9)
Rest – Repose (to place trust in someone; in the control of some person or group), quiet, quietude, ease, tranquility, peacefulness, relaxation, sleep, standstill, calm. Rest is something God has provided for His people through the gift of His Son, Jesus. Jesus came not only to restore our relationship with God, but He came to provide everything we need physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and relational. The adversary comes to steal our peace by bombarding our minds with the cares of this world, as it enters our minds it also goes to the heart making many sick physically, mentally and emotionally. In this world, we will have trials and tribulation whether we’re a Christian or an unbeliever.
If we concentrate on the power of God rather than our problem, we will receive the peace of God. Having peace in God is not denying you have a situation or an issue, but you’re allowing God to be God and not the situation or issue. If we’re concentrating more on what we’re going through, we have made the issue our god. Jesus warned the believer, we would have tribulation, but He have over-came the world (These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world – John 16:38). Whether you know it or not, heaven is fighting for you; no way would God allow His children to be defeated by the adversary or the world when they have submitted themselves to Him completely.
Jesus said we are one with Him and the Father (That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me-John 17:21). Every born-again Christian has the Father backing them up. We look at the problem, we ask the Father for direction and we wait on Him. While we’re waiting, we’re building ourselves up in prayer, fasting, reading and studying the world of God so our faith will grow and our spirit will be sensitive to his Spirit and to His voice. God’s desire for His children is for them to place their trust in Him, there is nothing that can happened that God is not aware of, if He allowed it, then its going to work together for our good. We can’t run from a task the Father has given us, we must know that He has our best interest at heart. Jesus have overcame everything that would try to hinder and block; Greater is He that is in you than what is trying to destroy you!
Even though when we’re being persecuted, rejected, lied on, betrayed, lacking in finances, lacking companionship, hurting in our bodies, attacked with sickness and dis-ease our faith should be in God, and when our faith is in Him, we don’t have anxiety attacks, depression. We don’t have sleepless nights, our countenance is not sad, but of joy because we know where our help comes from. We know that our Heavenly Father will bring us out with the victory. When you rest, you look at the issue and tell it, God got this!
Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knock it shall be opened (Mathew 7:7-8). In the Christian community, you will sometimes hear, if you pray more than once for a thing, then you don’t have faith; this misleading information has made many stop contending with God until they receive an answer. In this scripture, Jesus is telling us to be persistence in our pursuant of God. It’s not like God doesn’t hear our prayers, and it may get discouraging to continue to do right, praying consistently and not see tangible results, but that’s the time we need to continue to pursue Him. We shall reap the benefits of our prayer, if we faint not. God has instructed us to delight ourselves in Him and as we delight ourselves in Him, He would give us the desires of our heart. To delight in someone means to experience great pleasure and joy in his or her presence, we get into God’s presence by prayer and praise. We are the children of God and just like in the natural when our children ask for something, if the answer is no, they will return and ask again; it should be the same way when we go to our Father in prayer; we pray until we receive an answer to what we’re praying for. As born- again Christians, we never ask the Father for something that is contrary to the Word of God, so when we pray and we pray according to God’s Word, we will receive an answer. Jesus said, whatever we ask the Father in His name, that would He do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. When you pray, believe God will hear and answer your prayer, ask in faith.
So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:33). Forsaketh means literally to renounce or give up. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have to make a commitment to live according to the instructions that has been given us through the written and spoken Word of God.
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou (you) are converted , strengthen thy brethern (Luke 22:32) Peter was graced to have been in the presence of our Lord and Savior as well as sat under His teachings, but Peter hadn’t given himself completely to the Lord. Jesus predicted Peter’s denial of being one of His disciples prior to Jesus’ death. Just like Peter, sometime Christians be afraid to let others know they are Christians, followers of Jesus or to stand up for what is right according to the Word of God. But as Jesus had prayed for Peter, He has also prayed for you that your faith doesn’t weaken. Just like Peter, Satan desires to sift committed Christians as wheat to make them lose their faith, to make them desire to forsake their salvation and birthrights.
Satan is like a sniper, he watches to see where your weak points are and that’s where he attacks. He will have a husband and wife coming against one other, sometime influencing one or both to commit adultery. He will attack your children, influencing them to live opposite of what you have trained them. Sometimes he will bring division among siblings. Can’t get the ministry to go forward, people leaving the ministry. Wherever he can hit and hurt you to make you lose faith that’s where he’s going to strike. This is why we must be strong in the faith, and this comes by having a relationship with God to the point you know that whatever Satan does, he is a defeated foal, because God has you in the palm of his hands. What concerns you, concerns God, and He promised, He would perfect that which concerns you.
Time is running out, Jesus is soon to return and Satan is trying to destroy as many committed Christians as he can, I use the word committed Christians because there are a lot of people professing to be Christians, but they aren’t living according to what the word Christian means. When you want to know the definition of a Christian, don’t look it up in the dictionary, look in the Bible see an examples of true Christianity. Satan is not attacking those who is living a double life. Christian on Sunday, and living as an unbeliever the rest of the week. To be converted is to seek the Bible instructions in of how to live as a Christian. God will never instruct us to do something that’s incapable for us to do. He has empowered those that have received of His Spirit to live according to His Word.
There are times our faith will weaken, that’s the time to seek out Christians that can pray you through until your faith arise again. You don’t need to be around weak Christians when your faith is weaken. When you have committed your life to God, it’s His responsibility to provide every need you have. Don’t be shaken when trials and tribulations come to strengthen your faith. We’re on a spiritual journey, and on this journey we will run into different giants, there will be times when you’re lonely and you have people around you, but they can’ t comprehend the emotional need. You may be rejected, that’s when you wrap yourself with the Word of God and prayer. Sickness may attack your body, your faith must be in God and not the doctor’s report. Your child maybe on drugs or some other addictions, you must know God has promised the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
You can be in church every time the door is opened, but your faith has went out the back door. Converted is to return to the faith you had when you first received salvation. Your faith was so strong nothing was impossible. God is the same God now as He was then, we can have a resting assurance, He would never leave or forsake us. Whatever you maybe going through, know that He can bring you out. He is the God that works in the impossible, He’s the God that can move every mountain in your life. He’s the God that said vengeance is mine, and I will repay. He’s the God that can deliver from every addiction, He’s the God that can go into our inner most being and heal a broken heart, wounded spirit. He’s the God that can regulate confused minds. He’s the God that can restore a broken marriage. He’s the God that will give you peace in the midst of a storm.
Return to God whole heartily; spirit, soul, mind and body. Desire to live a life that will please Him, without faith we can’t please Him, without holiness you can’t enter into His presence. Holiness only mean, you have separated yourself from the things God has instructed us to separate ourselves from and you’re living a life to please Him!
