God’s Love

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us – Romans 8:31.

The word these things refer to God’s purpose. If God has done everything from foreknowledge to glorification for us, all adversaries are powerless. Satan tries to influence us that God has forsaken us, or He doesn’t love us, but God’s love never changes. His love is past, present and future. Judgment

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God. – 1st Peter 4:17

This isn’t the final judgment, but God’s refining discipline. God often allow believers to sin and the consequences of their sin to take its course. He does this for several reasons: To show us our potential for sinning, to encourage us to turn from sin and more constantly depend on Him, to prepare us to face other, even stronger temptations in the future and to help us stay faithful and keep trusting Him. Humbleness of Heart

Every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted – Luke 18:14

This chapter begins with two parables told by Jesus. In the first, He emphasized how important persistent prayer is; in the second, He contrasted the prayers of two people with entirely different attitudes. Taken together, they show us that the prayer life of a believer is most important, but that prayer can be ineffective if a person has a wrong attitude. Read More
