New Life

I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery (harp) and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee – Psalm 144:9

When we accept salvation through the grace of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we will sing a new song, the songs we sing in the new life would be songs that will magnify and glorify our Father, songs that will exalt Him and give Him praise, honor, and admiration.

The gift from God is a “New Beginning” or a “New Life”, is a tremendous blessing and benefit to us as His children. It’s such a blessing to know the mistakes and sins we committed yesterday as well as in our past will be placed behind us.  As we walk in our new life, we can’t continue to look at our past if we want to go to our future. We have to live in faith and that’s on a daily basis as it is according to the Word of God (Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen – Hebrews 11:1). Now faith is present, it’s not in the past or in the future, it’s what you need at the moment.

When salvation is received from the heart and not from our emotions, God gives us a new heart (This the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds, will I write them. And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more – Hebrews 10:16-17).  When we come before God with true confession and repentance, He writes His laws in our heart and mind. We have been made perfect, complete in Jesus Christ, yet we are being made holy. Jesus Christ has once and for all made His believers perfect in God’s sight, but at the same time, He is making them holy. Holiness is a process, it doesn’t come instantaneously, but the believer must be willing to go through the process of being made in the image of God and His Son.

Every day is a new day, a new day for life. We have good days and we have bad days. On the bad days, we may have had a rough day all day, and when it’s time to retire for bed, there are challenges, but when you wake up the next morning, it’s a new day for new life. We look forward to another day and in essence, it’s a new day for a fresh start. The mistakes we made yesterday, we can try to do better on tomorrow, as Christians, we will make mistakes, we will commit sins even if it comes through a thought, but as we meditate on the Word of God, daily we’re trying to submit ourselves to the Word of God. Something is spiritually wrong when a professing Christians are continually living in sin without any regrets or remorse, in other words, they are practicing sin. Christians don’t practice sin, they practice the Word of God in their daily living.

When we practice the Word of God we become a new creation (Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature [creation]: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new – 2nd Corinthians 5:17). When we’re in Christ, our thinking, behavior, and character are different, we no longer think or act as the secular world.  We are being changed daily by the Word of God when we submit to the Word. New life brings about new adventures, open doors of opportunity, and most of all the old as been passed away and you’re fellowship and relationship with the Father and the Son. If your actions hasn’t changed since you received Jesus Christ as your Savior, you need to check yourself  with the Word of God and see if your life is in line with the Word of God, and if not, all you have to do is confess your sins, ask God to forgive you and give you the strength to live according to His Word.
