You Can’t Serve God And The World

For if after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them – 2nd Peter 2:20-21.

Apostle Peter is speaking of a person who has learned about Christ and became saved and has been a positively influenced to Christians as well as non-believers, but then rejects the truth and returns to his or her sin. He or she is worse than before receiving salvation and experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit because they encountered the truth and rejected it.A person who turns away from Christ casts aside their only means of escape. It doesn’t mean they can’t be restored, but it will take longer because they have rejected what they knew was the truth. Many times those that accepted Jesus as their Savior and then reject salvation didn’t repent of their sins and they died in sin. Sad, to say many who were once Christians have gotten entangled in the world and have been overcome by it. This is why we have been instructed to (“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage – Galatians 5:1”).

When looking at the chaotic state of the world and the different disasters that are happening, those who study the Bible is aware of the different signs of the coming of our Lord and Savior. This is not the time to get entangled with sin,  and we need to be trying to win as many souls as we can for the coming of our Lord. Jesus instructed His disciples then and now, we are in the world, but we’re not of the world. Salvation and sanctification give us entrance to the kingdom of God (Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God – John 3:5).

Every time we attend church and are being ministered the Word of God, He holds us responsible for what we hear and then doesn’t submit to what we hear. Preaching and teaching shouldn’t be about becoming rich. If we’re rich and poor in the spirit, we’re headed for hell. Sure, God wants us to prosper in every area of our life, but the kingdom of God is not about riches (For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost – Romans 14:17).  Sin doesn’t bring joy because as soon as someone says something or does something that will upset us, joy is gone. No matter what’s going on in our life or around us, we don’t lose joy when it comes from the Lord. We will have peace in whatever state we’re in.

Sure there are many that attend Church faithfully, but their lives haven’t been changed. Their actions are the same as they were before they accepted Jesus as their Savior. They want Jesus to save them from the wrath of God, but they don’t want to accept Him as Lord of their life.  The only way we’re going to make it into heaven’s gate is total submission to God’s instructions. If you really love Him, His instructions aren’t grievous, and you wouldn’t have a problem following His instructions. There are many lying preachers, teachers, prophets and bishops that are preparing their congregation for hell. Sin is no longer taught in many pulpits because they don’t want to upset the people; many don’t want to hear the Word of truth they would rather have a lie told to them.

The Father has instructed the believer to be different from the world; matter of fact He instructed the believer to not partake of things of the world, if were sipping, sniffing, smoking and puffing and doing everything the world is doing then we have become a part of the world. (Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you – 2nd Corinthians 6:17). Sure, you’re grown and you probably don’t want anyone to tell you what to do, but there is time, we all have to go before our Maker, and He’s not concerned about your fame, wealth, education or profession, the question will be why didn’t YOU obey my Word? Take time to pray, read and study the Bible; submit to the written instructions of God, it will keep you from a burning hell.
