But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death – Revelation 21:8.
The fearful are not those who are faint-hearted in their faith or who sometimes doubt or question, but those who turn back from following God. They are not brave enough to stand up for Christ, they are not humble enough to accept His authority over their lives. They are put in the same list as the unrepentant, abominable, murderers, liars, idolaters, and the immoral. People who overcome and endure to the end will receive the blessings God promised.Normally, people usually purchase insurance such as for a car, rental, home, fire and life insurance for protection if a disaster would occur to their possessions. Sadly, many don’t think about the hereafter. As many funerals as you and I have attended, no matter how the person lived prior to their death, you never hear someone is going to hell, they always will be going to heaven. It doesn’t matter all the good deeds we did while we were living if our soul is not right with God, we will stand before God for judgement (For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil – Ecclesiastes 12:14).
There are many good sermons in regards to the love of God and the love of Jesus, but in order for us to be children of God, we must come subject to His Word. As Christians, many categorize sin, but anything that is not of faith is a sin according to the Word of God (And he that doubted is damned {condemned} if he eat, because he eateth not of faith, for whatsoever is not of faith is sin – Romans 14:23). This verse is speaking about food, but it’s also speaking about faith, we try to steer clear of actions forbidden by Scripture, but sometimes Scripture is silent, then we should follow our conscience. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin means to go against a conviction and it leaves a person with a guilty or uneasy conscience.
When a Christian, truly tries to submit themselves to the Word of God, the Spirit of God will convict their spirit when an action or a spoken word has been performed against the Word of God. If our conscience or heart hasn’t been transformed and conformed to the Word of God, we will do anything our physical desire influences us with and have no remorse of what we have spoken or our actions. Repentance without sincerity will cause one to return to living a life of sinful actions, the wages of sin is death (For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23). Jesus is our life insurance, and the written Word of God is our fire insurance; without Jesus, we have no life, and rejection of the Word of God gives us hell for our resting place.
As Christian’s we suppose to be the salt of the earth (Ye are the salt of the earth, but if the salt have lost his savor {flavor} wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men – Matthew 5:13). Salt adds flavoring, acts as a preservative, melts coldness, and heals wounds, and this is what a genuine born-again Christian should do to the unbeliever. Our characteristics should bring out the best of those around us, we should be a preservative to the unbeliever by protecting them through prayer. Our kindness should melt the coldness in their hearts from life’s lessons, and our love should heal the wounds of a broken spirit and heart.
As Christians, we should be drawing the world to the Father and His Son, not repelling them from the gospel because of our actions and behavior. This world is coming to an end one day, and we don’t want to stand before the Father with our work undone. Although Jesus is love, when He returns, He’s not coming with love, but with wrath (But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come – Matthew 3:7). The Pharisees and Sadducees were religious leaders who rejected Jesus as the Son of God as well as the Word of God. Just because they knew the Word of God didn’t give them entrance into the kingdom of God neither into heaven. In order for the kingdom of God to take up residence in our physical bodies as well as our entry into heaven, we must conform ourselves to the Word of God.
We need insurance for our worldly possessions, but if we want our soul to possess the kingdom of God and heaven, we must accept Jesus as the Son of God, and conform our behavior and character to the Word of God. Fire and life insurance, we need for this world and for the new earth that is coming down from heaven (And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband – Revelation 21:2). Salvation is a gift from God, sanctification comes from Jesus and the Word of God is our Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (Bible).
Each of us have an appointed time to meet with death. We also have an appointed time to stand before God. God’s instructions is to love God and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Have mercy and compassion toward others. We can’t love God and hate people, if we do, the truth is not in us and we will be compensated how we have treated God and His people!

Fire and Life Insurance
