Being justified freely [without any cost] by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus – Romans 3:24.
Indeed, grace cannot be withheld from a man because of dermit, lessened by demerit, or mixed with the law of works.
Grace does not mean that men must meet no conditions to receive the benefits of grace. No Scripture teaches unconditional grace, or that God gives grace to men who disobey the gospel. If so, then God would be under obligation to save all, even sinners who disobey (For there is no respect of person with God – Romans 2:11).
God is under obligation to saints only when they walk in the light and remain true to the gospel (But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleaneth us from all sin – 1st John 1:7). God is not under obligation to sinners until they come to obedience of the gospel. Grace teaches men to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously, and godly. If men do not obey its teaching, grace can go no further.
What Grace Can Do:
Save the World – Genesis 6:8 – But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Because of Noah’s obedience, he and his family were saved from the flood. All humanity and animals were destroyed in the flood. Through Noah’s three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth the earth was repopulated. Families make up the world and God is concerned about families. We can stand on God’s Word that not only will He save us, but He will save our household. Our household is our spouse and children.
Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. It’s by God’s grace we receive salvation, it’s nothing that we do or owed to us. Grace is accompanied by faith, and faith brings about our submission to God and His Word.
Gives One Good Things – Psalm 84:19 – For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. As we submit ourselves to God and His Word, He will give us our hearts’ desires. When our hearts have been changed from worldly desires to God’s desires we will not ask for anything that would contradict His holiness; so by doing this, we will receive an answer to our prayers.
Bring Men to Repentance – Romans 10:9 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt saved. Grace softens the heart and draws people to repentance. One is not saved by his or her mouth’s confession, but rather, the mouth testifies readily of the grace of God in Christ which has been received by faith.
Brings Salvation – Titus 2:11-12 – For the grace of God bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. No one will be able to have an excuse for the reason why they went to hell because the grace of God has and will appear to all giving them the chance to accept salvation.
Over Come Sin – Romans 5:14 – For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. God has empowered every Christian to have power over sin, they don’t have to become subject to it when Jesus has set them free. The problem is the majority of Christians don’t understand the empowerment God has given them because they would rather enjoy the pleasures of sin than submit to God’s instructions.
Grace is not given so that Christians can continue to practice sin. Grace is given to ensure Christians have everything they need to live a Christ-like lifestyle. Grace empowers with boldness. Grace makes Christians joint heirs with Jesus Christ.
