Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince [convict] the gainsayers [those who contradict] -Titus 1:9.

As Christians, we must be prayerful for ourselves and others so that we will not be caught up in doctrines contradicting the Word of God.

Where there is the truth, there will be false. Where there is the genuine, there will be the counterfeit. As Christians we must be able to discern between truth and the false, the genuine and the counterfeit. It is so important as Christians to read and study the Word of God, this is the only way we will build a relationship with the Father, and know His Word.

There are more than thirty-five thousand religions and doctrines. How do we know what is truth and what is false? Only God’s written Word will change the lives and circumstances of individuals. The Bible is God’s written Word, it is spirit, truth, and life.

Just as God has ministers, Satan has ministers as well (And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works – 2nd Corinthians 11:14-15). If satan, the prince of darkness, can disguise himself as an angel of light, then his servants, the ministers of evil, can disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness. Satan’s main tool is deception.

Many of God’s people are in cults, and they aren’t aware they are in cults. There are churches where women are to wear long dresses, no makeup, or any jewelry. Many of them aren’t married, and they’re dedicated to the pastor’s wishes. They work to give all their money to the church and barely living. This is not of God, yes, we are supposed to give our tithes and offerings, but we don’t give every nickel and dime to the church.

We’re not to be taught what to do with our spouse and our family. God is the head, if you’re married, the man is the head, and God is the head of him. When ministers instruct their congregants how to live in their homes and their spouse, they are out of order.

Many marriages have gone into divorce court because of ministers. Families have been devastated because the children have joined a religion without their parents’ knowledge. Having them doing things completely contrary to the Word of God.

Anytime you’re in a religion that is secretive or the minister is the only one who can read the Bible and the congregants have to listen, it’s not sound doctrine! Pray and read your Bible to know when something is contrary to the Word of God.

Others teach on prosperity rather than seeking God and His righteousness, and all other things will be given to you when you seek God first, and allow Him to be the treasure in your heart. Sound doctrine is teaching the gospel of Christ.

False ministers lead men from God, they speak presumptuously, having no sense of righteousness. Teach lies, live like sinners. Compromising the truth, destroy and scatter. Everyone preaching and teaching has not been sent by God.

Beware of who you allow to minister to your heart and spirit. Read and study the Bible for yourself to see what’s being taught is Scriptural. Have a consistent prayer life, apply the Word of God to your life daily to shield you from spiritual destruction.

God is the Creator of all things, the earth is His and all that dwell in it. The Bible is the written Word of God, and when we follow the instructions, we will not be deceived by false ministers. Build a relationship with the Father by prayer, fasting, reading and studying His Word. Don’t open your heart and spirit to every teaching and doctrine. Know God for yourself, know His Word for yourself!
