That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved – Romans 10:9.
Christianity is to be Christlike, but so many professing Christians aren’t living up to the name. Christlike is for every denomination that professes to be Christian and worship God.
One is not saved by his or her mouth’s confession, but rather, the mouth testifies readily of the grace of God in Christ which has been received by faith. Once saved, always saved is a lie from the pits of hell and many of the younger generation are falling into this lie.
In this Christian journey, we continue to put on things of righteousness, and putting off ungodly things. The first commandment God gave man was not to eat the forbidden fruit, but because he allowed his wife to eat the forbidden fruit, he and his wife were thrown out of the Garden of Eden.
When God gives instructions, He expects His people to follow them. The Scriptures were written by Holy men, and they wrote as the Spirit inspired them (All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works – 2nd Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible was written for God’s people so that they would know the heart of God and to follow His instructions for a good life now and afterlife.
Salvation must be accepted from the heart, if not, the individual will continue to live in their old lifestyle without a change. Many times people come to the altar to accept salvation because of guilt, or shame, or the message made them feel good, but it was not from the heart. When salvation is accepted from the heart the person does not go back to their old lifestyle (Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new – 2nd Corinthians 5:17). Because believers are united with Jesus both in His death and resurrection, they participate in the new creation. That is, they receive the benefits of being restored by Christ to what God had created them to be.
When one first gets saved this will be a new life for them, they haven’t been down this lane before so they need to be taught how to live as Christians. When it’s time for a baby to get off formula, the mother has to teach them how to eat solid food, they don’t do this on their own. It’s the same when one becomes a Christian they have to be taught what is right and wrong according to Scripture.
This is why it is so important for Christians to read and study their Bible, it is God’s written Word speaking to them. You have to get a new mindset from the old mind (And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and perfect, will of God – Romans 12:2). Instead of being molded by the values of this world, the believer should be transformed, that is changed, by the renewing of the mind. Spiritual transformation starts in the mind and heart.
If you’re feeding your mind with the world, what you’re looking at, listening to, and going to, then you will only produce the things of the world. Neither your conversation nor your walk will be spiritual because your mind and heart are still gravitating to the things of the world. What’s in the heart and mind will reflect in one’s actions and speech.
Christians are in the world, but they are not of the world because they have received the Spirit of Jesus in their heart. When Jesus is abiding in the heart, the heart will begin to give you the mind of Christ. You will begin to think like Christ, your actions will be righteous and not ungodly.
For Jesus to come into the heart, one must be willing to give up the world (Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord – 2nd Corinthians 6:17-18). We can’t be partakers of the world’s actions and have fellowship with God. So many of God’s people are living contradictory to the Word of God and they think they are okay, but according to the Bible, they aren’t. It’s either God’s way or no way.

The Process Of Christianity – Part I
