For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be – Matthew 24:27.
Ministers aren’t preaching about the coming of Jesus, hell, heaven, or the baptism of the Holy Spirit. If this generation is not taught, they will not know.
Ministers should teach the gospel, which will lead people to Christ. People can’t do what the Bible instructs if they are not trained. So many people think that because they join or attend church, they’re a Christian. Not so, according to Scripture (Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God – John 3:5). Water baptism is one confession of their faith in Jesus, the Savior. Water baptism will not save you. Salvation must be received with the heart otherwise, the person will continue to live as a nonbeliever.
True salvation is when people have accepted Jesus as their Savior from the heart; when it’s from the heart, Jesus will come and dwell in their hearts, making them a new creation (Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new – 2nd Corinthians 5:17). True salvation changes the heart and spirit of the person. When one receives salvation, they no longer desire what they used to as nonbelievers. Everything does not go away all at once because it’s a process. The more the person seeks to submit to the will of God, the more worldly actions will be destroyed.
As Christians, we can’t serve God and the world; we will submit to one or the other. Whoever we become servants to will dominate our lifestyle (Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or obedience unto righteousness – Romans 6:16)? Only those who serve God by submitting to His Words of instructions will enter into heaven or go with Jesus when He returns for His church.
Jesus is returning for His church (For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the triumph of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord – 1st Thessalonians 5:16-17). Only those who remain living according to the Word of God will meet the Savior in the air. Partial Christians will not meet Him in the air, but they will remain on earth to endure the Great Tribulation Period.
Christians are to be Christ-like; if not, they aren’t living as Christians. We may be operating in the gifts of the Spirit and living opposite of the Word of God does not give one entry into heaven (And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity – Matthew 7:23). It’s either God’s way or no way. He has given instructions on how Christians should live their lives, based on Scripture written by holy men who quote what God gave them.
Living a Christian life is straight and narrow (Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it – Matthew 7:14). Narrow means that one must come through the narrow gate to reach the path that leads to eternal life. That is submitting oneself to the instructions of God’s written Word.
Jesus is coming for those who have submitted themselves to follow the instructions. He’s coming to a church where He sees His Spirit dwelling in them, and the Fruit of the Spirit is being manifested in their lives. Serving God is a heart matter, and if the heart has not been regenerated, the person will continue to participate in the actions they were doing before accepting salvation. True salvation brings about a change in the person’s heart and spirit.
Jesus’s return will not be like when He first came into the world; He’s coming to get His church and to destroy those that reject His salvation as well as those who live hypocritical lives (Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and firece anger, to lay the land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof to of it – Isaiah 13:9). Isaiah’s reference to the day of the Lord is both immediate and eschatological. The destruction he has immediately in view is the fall of Babylon in 539 B.C., but he also sees the ultimate fall of Babylon in the last days.
God does not want anyone to perish; that’s the reason He gave His only begotten Son for the sins of the world. God does not send people to hell, people send themselves to hell by rejecting salvation and not following the instructions of His written Word.
In the Great Day of Tribulation, people will wish to die and can’t (And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them – Revelation 9:6). God has given each of us a choice to receive salvation by His Son; neither Him nor His Son twist people arms to make them believe or receive salvation, the choice is theirs.
When Jesus returns, will you be ready, or will you be left behind?

Jesus Is Coming
