Read The Word; Submit To It

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled (stedfast), and not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven, whereof I Paul am made a minister – Colossians 1:23.

All blessings from God are contingent upon meeting certain conditions. Satan will also bless you to keep you bound, influencing you that you’re blessed, but spiritually, you’re on your way to hell!

After life will be for eternity, either in hell or heaven; our destination depends on how we live our lives before death. Apostle Paul was admonishing the Colossians to live by the gospel they had heard. Being steadfast in their faith and walk with the Lord.

Sadly, so many professing Christians are living according to the standards of the world in their character and actions. Attending church and on their way to hell if they don’t repent and submit themselves to the instructions of the Bible.

Years ago, neither choir members nor musicians were allowed to sing or play music because the pastor wouldn’t permit it if they were living carnal lives. They followed the teachings of the Old Testament; everything in the Tabernacle was anointed or dedicated to the Lord. The instruments and vessels were holy, the singers were holy, the musicians were holy. Because the singers and musicians were holy, the music was holy in the ears of the Lord and came to Him as a sweet fragrance.

Now, people only attend church once a week; they don’t attend Bible Study or Sunday School. Just like we need more than one meal a day, we need more than just the Sunday Worship Service when we’re being exhorted. We need to know the Word of God, and that comes by attending Sunday School and Bible Study. Musicians and Choir members are those leading us in the presence of God, but if they’re living opposite to the Word of God, how can they usher in the presence of God?

In today’s society, musicians play secular music, and choir members often lead double lives. Holy on Sundays and Mondays through Saturdays, their lifestyle is that of the world. The sad thing is that the musicians are mixing secular music with the gospel in the church, and they think no one knows. But those who have discernment are aware.

Many churches have become social gatherings to hear good singing and music, and preach happy messages, but no one is being saved or delivered. Leaving the same way they came into the church. The Spirit of God is not giving visitation, and the congregants are satisfied with it.

Then it is churches where the pastor and prophets are false ministers stealing the people into poverty with their lying prophecy and get-rich messages. People give good money to be lied to because they will not take the time to read and study the Bible for themselves, pray, and build a relationship with the Father.

Congregants and visitors don’t reverence the Sanctuary as they did in the past because, first of all, in many churches, the Spirit of God is not present. Secondly, people are not being taught to reverence the Sanctuary.

So many professing Christians have left the teaching of the Bible and see nothing wrong with their lifestyle. Carnality is embedded in many Christians’ minds and hearts. Carnality is living according to our fleshly desires. Living carnal lives will cause one to enter hell (Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if we live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify [put to death] the deeds of the body, ye shall live – Romans 8-12-13). To mortify is death; in this case, it signifies separation from worldly lusts and actions.

If we’re professing to be Christians, then we should live like Christians. Christians have been brought with a price. They should not continue to live as though they have not accepted salvation; if so, they need to ask God for forgiveness and dedicate themselves to Him whole heartily! If not, the wrath of God will be upon them just as it will be upon the nonbeliever on the day of judgment.

God loves everyone, but God will not tolerate His children practicing sin. When one continues in sin, they lose God’s protection. God will step back and allow Satan and his host to have control of them since they want to be their servants. God is holy, and His people should be holy, meaning they separate themselves from the world’s actions.

Naturally, a child will look and act like their earthly father; how much more should they act like their heavenly Father? God holds every Christian responsible for what they hear and what they adhere to. Preaching is to exhort the people to continue in the faith. Teaching is to teach them to live according to the Word of God.

If one continues in the teaching of the doctrine of Jesus Christ, they will inherit heaven; if not, they will inherit living in hell for eternity! Accepting church membership does not get one into heaven, nor does work in the church. We must invite Jesus into our hearts, be willing to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, and then we are candidates for heaven. Our entire being must be dedicated to the will and Word of God; there is no in between.

If you love Jesus, you will be willing to submit to the teaching; you can’t follow the instruction if you’re not reading and studying the Bible. We do not want Jesus or death to come, and we’re living carnal lives; if so, wherever they find us, that will determine where we will spend eternity.
