Pastor Make Me Feel Good

Teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world – Titus 2:12.

God created man with self-will. He also created ministers to teach His Word so that His creation could and would worship Him according to His written Word.

Although many profess to serve God, they serve Him according to what they will and will not submit to, which is the opposite of serving Him. To serve Him and worship Him is to submit your will to Him, and there is a remnant that will.

Many attend church on Sunday regularly, but they don’t want the Pastor to instruct them on how to live a godly life, or they will put on spiritual headphones to disconnect themselves from hearing what God is speaking through the man or woman of God.

God has always used a man or woman to warn His people when they are not living according to His instructions, and those who follow His instructions continue to do so. It is the pastors’ or ministers’ responsibility to encourage the congregation, but it is also their responsibility to warn the congregation if they’re practicing sin that the wages of sin is death (For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23).

As professing Christians, if we want to enter into the promise, we must submit to God’s instructions. A Christian can’t have a friend with benefits (But fornication, and all uncleanness or covetousness [adultery], let it not be once named among you as becometh saints – Ephesians 5:3). Many in the congregation don’t want to hear this. Still, they would rather hear “God wants me to be happy” or “God knows my heart”. As long as ministers and pastors continue to preach “God’s Going to Bless You” messages without repentance, the congregation will continue to live a life of sin. Attending church and candidates for Hell; the church is where the congregation attends to worship and to be taught how to live a life that will be pleasing to God.

Time is winding down, Jesus is soon to return, and every professing Christian should examine themselves to see if they will be ready at His appearance. Read the Word of God, study it, and comply with it! The church needs to return to the truth of God’s Word. His Words will strengthen our faith and commitment to Him. Don’t fight God’s instructions; submit to them, and then you will be truly blessed.

Sexual gratification is not the only sin; envy, jealousy, and gossiping are also sins. Not loving one another as we should, forgiving one another, releasing others from offenses, to name a few, these will send a Christian to hell just as quickly as non-marital sex. The Bible is the professing Christian’s manual for living; reading and adhering to it will enable one to enter into heaven.

Jesus taught the believer during His earthly ministry to enter into the narrow gate that will lead to life and it would be few that chose the narrow way in other words submitting to the instructions of the Bible (Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it – Matthew 7:13-14). Some Christians would rather follow the broad gate Jesus was speaking about, where there are no restrictions, do what you want, when you want to, and with whom you want to. The narrow gate is a much happier place, because you’re submitting to the Word of God, His blessings will be with you, and you don’t have to worry about being compensated for practicing sin; the wages of sin are death, naturally and spiritually.

Sin is not confronted in the pulpit; leaders want to make their congregation happy rather than being concerned about them dying and going to hell. When people are practicing sin, they would rather be lied to than be told the truth. It’s the responsibility of the pastors and minsters to warn the people if they practice sin what will be the outcome (When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thine hand – Ezekiel 3:18). Wickedness is described in the Bible of those who choose to live according to their desire and what they think is right and not submitting to the written Word of God.

The Bible is not for the non-believer, but for the believer to receive instructions on what is required as a professing Christian. Without knowledge of the Bible, one will have no idea whether they are being taught the Word of God or not. If you have a pastor or minister who consistently teaches about blessings but fails to warn you about practicing sin, that person is not being led by the Spirit of God.

God will alert you to your sin before placing judgment on you. He will use other believers to confront you about your practice of sin. Would you rather feel good here and miss heaven because you don’t want to hear or yield to the truth? Living on earth is temporal, but after death, there is eternity either in heaven or hell.

If you desire to live a godly style, it comes with a challenge, but God will enable you to live it if you have the desire to. This is why it is so important for Christians to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. He is the One who enables Christians to live godly.

Don’t always look for messages that make you feel good; if the Word is not hitting you, then you will stay in your sin. No professing Christian should be comfortable in their sin. Intentionally to pursue after God and His righteousness.
