Remnant refers to a small part or piece left over from a large whole that has been used, removed, destroyed, or sold. There will be a remnant of those professing to be Christians who will enter heaven.
We’re living in the Book of Revelation, and many of God’s people are not looking at the signs of the time (For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows – Matthew 24:7-8). Many of God’s people have left the doctrine of the gospel because they followed false doctrines, and many have been led astray into false religious cults.
Everyone talking about God is not the holy God they’re referring to, but the god of this world. Many false pastors are ministering messages of blessings, but are not instructing the congregants how to receive God’s blessings. Satan will bless you to keep you in bondage, but the blessings of the Lord make you rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.
In light of the current global events, we should strive to draw closer to God. God loves everyone, but He does not love the actions of His people. He has sent His messengers for thousands of years to instruct His people how to live according to His instructions. We place God on the back burner until we need something, then we pray and make promises to Him we never keep.
Many are professing to be Christians, but their lifestyle is different from their confession. As Christians, we are called to follow the instructions of the Bible. We can’t serve Him in any way (Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way. that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it – Matthew 7:13-14. Many believe they can be a Christian and a sinner, but according to the Word of God, the only way we can enter heaven is by living the narrow gate. There are many on the broad way that leads to destruction.
Jesus said that to be His disciple or a follower of Jesus, we must deny ourselves, something that many will not do. (Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me – Matthew 16:24). Jesus must have Lordship in our lives to be His disciple.
Daily, we should do a self-examination to see whether or not we are in fellowship with the Lord. Do we spend time with Him in prayer or reading His Word, or do we allow everything else to come before Him? If you’re not hearing His voice or feeling His presence, that means you’re not spending time with Him and haven’t made Him have Lordship in your life.
Christians are to be the servants of Jesus Christ (Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servant to obey, his servant ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness – Romans 6:16). In the day-to-day confrontation with sin, stop giving in, but present yourself to Jesus as His servant. A servant is to be employed by another; Christians are to be the servants of Jesus Christ and Him only.
If we’re still going and doing the things we were doing before accepting salvation, something is wrong because the heart has not been regenerated. God creates a new nature in those who believe. Conversion requires the commitment of the total personality, intellect, emotion, and will. This is why Apostle Paul admonished believers to present themselves as a living sacrifice (I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service – Romans 12:1).
Time is winding up, and Jesus or death will be coming. We all have an appointed time to meet death, and when it comes, will we be in good standing with the Father and Son? However, we have lived our lives, which will be the reward we receive at the return of Jesus (And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as His works shall be – Revelation 22:12). The blessings are for those who obey the command ( repentance, faith, perseverance) of the Bible.
Take the time to read and study the Bible. This is your key to entering heaven if you adhere to the instructions. There is life after death; our lifestyle will determine where we will spend eternity, according to the lifestyle we lived before death.
