Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints – Jude 3.
Many times when people receive salvation they will assume that’s all to it, I have repented, I have given my life to Jesus now what else is there for me to do. According to the above Scripture, there is more to it than just receiving salvation and believing. The devils believe also but they don’t worship or serve God. The Bible says we should contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints. To contend is to struggle as in battle, fight, to compete, as in a race. To strive in a debate to maintain or assert. To live as the saints of old lived in faith, we too must submit ourselves to prayer and fasting and studying the Word of God.
To give God our heart is to allow Him to guide and direct our lives according to His will and plan. Jude admonished us to contend for the faith. In order to have faith, it comes by hearing the Word of God (Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God – Romans 10:17). Since the Cornovirus has entered into the world, believers can’t attend church as they did prior to the virus. So in order to hear the Word of God, we must listen by the internet, CDs with preaching and teaching. There are CDs with the Bible. Books that teach the gospel or encourage the believer to have faith and live a godly life.
We can’t live according to the Word of God, if we don’t know the Word of God. We can’t grow spiritually if we’re not going to allow the Word of God to lead and guide us in our thoughts, behavior and character. Reading the Word of God will uproot ungodly thoughts and actions in hearts. It will build our faith in God, and it will clean our hearts from the ungodliness the world wants to influence us with. Fasting will make our bodies comes subject to the Spirit of God and the Word of God. It also enables the believer to fight against Satanic attacks.
It takes discipline to interact with God on a daily basis and most professing Christians don’t want to do that. Many can spend hours watching television and being on the internet, but will not spend thirty minutes in prayer and reading God’s Word. This is why professing Christians can’t overcome profanity, fornication, adultery, hatred, and all other Satanic influences because they don’t spend enough time in the presence of God. There are a lot of people profess to be Christians, but they deny the power of God. No one can live a godly life without the help of the Spirit of God, and many that profess to be Christians don’t have the Spirit of Christ living within them.
After we have read the Word of God, pray the Word of God, live according to the Word of God then shall we have the faith that once delivered to the saints of old. We must have the same persistence they had in order to survive this Christian walk. We must place the armor of God on us daily (Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints – Ephesians 6:13-18.
As Christians, we can’t live according to Scripture without the armor of God and the helmet of salvation. Quoting Scriptures and not living by Scripture is hypocritical. God wants us to serve Him, spirit, soul and body in godliness. As Christians, you will be talked about, lied on, disliked, disappoints will come. Trials and tribulations, attacks from Satan and his co-host. Rejected by family and friends because of your stand for God’s Word. Living according to God’s Words will not make you popular, just as they rejected Jesus, so will you. Those that don’t live according to Scripture will try to tell you what Scripture means. They want to give you their ideas rather than what God has instructed in His written Word.
These are evil days, Satan is rampant, he’s trying to get as many as he can before they submit to God’s written Word. Read the Word of God, pray, fast, listen, and look at programs that will edify your spirit. Don’t detour from what the Bible instructs as a Christian. Jesus has forewarned us what will happen prior to His return and many professing Christians have no idea of what’s happening in the world has been prophesied. What we’re seeing now is nothing compared to what will be happening prior to the return of Jesus.
We have been given a choice who we will serve, we can either allow Satan to direct our lives or we can allow the Holy Spirit to direct our lives and live forever in heaven or live forever in hell with Satan and all those that allowed him to direct their lives. Heaven is real and so is Hell, and if we want to enter into Heaven, we must live according to God’s written Word. Salvation without submitting to God’s Word is disobedience and with disobedience comes the consequences. The Bible instructions are to be continued on a daily basis.

The Good Shepherd
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty – Revelation 1:8.
A common occupation in ancient Palestine, commonly referred to Biblical imager. “Shepherd” could refer to the owner of flocks or herds or sheep or other livestock or to a person working for the owner. Shepherds stayed with their sheep day and night. They provided their flocks with food and water, defended them against thieves and wild animals, and searched for any sheep that wandered astray.
Jehovah My Shepherd (Yahweh) He is our feeder and nourisher who is totally committed to our well-being. Jesus loves and cares for us beyond measure. He loved us so much He gave His life so that we may have a life with the Father.
Jehovah my Provider (Yahweh Yireh) Jesus our provider, Jesus provides all our needs day by day, stability, strength, encouragement. Even in challenging times, He knows how best to provide for us. All we have to do is be directed by His Spirit and follow His directions.
Jehovah my Peace (Yahweh Shalmom) Jesus enables us to find peace in the midst of storms, He gives us the peace that will surpass all human understanding when we place our faith and trust in Him.
Jehovah My Restorer (Yahweh Ropheca) As we submit to the Word of God, Jesus will go deep inside us bringing refreshment and rejuvenation to our soul and spirit day by day as we go through difficult times and disappointments.
Jehovah My Righteousness (Yahweh Tzidkenu) Our righteousness comes from Jesus, and as we abide in Him, He will abide in us and we will live according to the Word of God without hestation. Our thinking will line up with His Word, our behavior and character will be that of Jesus.
Jehovah My Companion (Yahweh Shammah) Jesus is with us in everything we face. We may walk through a valley of deep darkness, but He is with us when we enter, and He will give us an exit. He’s the same God that is with us when we’re on the mountain, He will follow and walk with us in the valley.
Jehovah My Victor (Yahweh Nissi) In the midst of trials and tribulations, Jesus promises to never leave us or forsake us. He’s our sustainer and protector. He brings us to victory, and nothing or no one can conquer Him.
Jehovah My Sanctifier (Yahweh Mkaddeschem) He anoints us with oil of His Holy Spirit. His power helps us to walk the path as He purifies us. No one who comes into His presence stays the same. As we walk with Him on a daily basis He continues to sanctify us into the image of Him and His Father.
Jehovah Most High (Yahweh Elyon) He is God, and He deserves all our praises in whatever situation we find ourselves in. The Shepherd has only goodness and mercy towards us. His thoughts towards us are not evil, but good to bring us to an expect end.

I’m Saved, Now What?

Snared By Your Words
A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul – Proverbs 18:7.
A snare is a trapping device, often made up of a noose, something that entangles the unwary. It can also be a surgical instrument with a wire loop controlled by a mechanism in the handle. Used to remove growth such as tumors or polyps, but what I want to point out is used to remove a growth. The very words we speak can and will remove blessings and bring forth destructions.
People use to say sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Words can hurt, and words can destroy people. Words are actions whether negative or positive and they do manifest in our lives and in the lives of others. Because of the words we speak and what others may speak over our lives, when we pray, we need to cancel out every negative word we have spoken and what others have spoken about us and our lives.
Many Christians have been stagnated spiritually because of the words they have spoken or what others have spoken about them. Children have had words spoken to them that has stunted their learning capabilities or their goals because of negative words spoken to them by their parents or guardians. Many women have low esteem, and have inferiority or feel unloved because of words spoken to them. Some men can’t receive love neither can they love because of words spoken to them in their early childhood. Words can either be a blessing or a curse.
What we think about sooner or later we will speak it and they become actions. This is why God spoke through the men of God to instruct Christians what to think on (Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things – Philippians 4:8. When we think about anything other than these words, evil will manifest in our words and in our actions.
Watch what you think about, if it does not line up with the Word of God, you should dismiss it from your thoughts and let it not enter into your heart. If we can’t say anything good about someone, we should not speak it. Think about what you speak over your life and the life of your loved ones, and others. We face reality, we don’t ignore it, but even what see is true, we need to pray about the situation and the person. Stop allowing toxicate words to come out your mouth, and replace them with positive and loving words.
