Golden Text – “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (Revelation 21:4).
Revelation 21:1 – And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. The Apostle John had been exiled on the isle of Patmos for his faith, while there he saw a vision of the end times. In this new world, the Apostle saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from heaven. This new Jerusalem is the church of God in its new and perfect state, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. New here suggests freshness, not just a second beginning, this is the fulfillment of the prophecies of Isaiah 65:17 (For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth and the former shall not be remembered nor come into the mind). Significantly this eternal renewal has already begun in the life of the believer because using the same term, Apostle Paul says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” (Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new – 2nd Corinthians 5:17).

Bible Study – John Chapter 1 Verses 18-21
John 1:18 – No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him.
That is, no one has ever seen God in all of His essence, since God is a Spirit. God is a Spirit and is invisible unless God chooses to reveal Himself , humans cannot look at God and live. The Son is in intimate relationship with the Father, face-to-face with God. God became visible to human eyes in the man Jesus. It’s through seeing the Son that we see God.
We have from Jesus Christ a clear revelation of God to us. He hath declared God to us whom no man hath seen at any time. This intimates that the nature of God being spiritual, He is invisible to bodily eyes, We have therefore need to live by faith. No one knows the Father like the Son. In His bosom indicates how well please the Father is with the Son. Since God is a Spirit and is invisible unless God chooses to reveal Himself. Humans can’t look at God and live.

Sunday School Lesson, October 30, 2016 The Author and Finisher of Our Faith
To follow along, visit your local Christian bookstore, and ask for the Bible Expositor and Illuminator
Golden Text: “Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Hebrews 12:1 – Wherefore seeing we are also compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. The great “cloud of witnesses” who surrounds them are the Old Testament heroes of faith . The word “cloud” implies a vast number, we can also use this term for today’s Christians, those who have truly given their life to the Lord and have made Him their Lord and Savior have a change life. True Christian living is opposite of those who just profess Christianity. True Christians live a life of sacrifice daily meaning it’s no longer their will or desires, but the Lord’s will and desires for their life. Read More
