Temple of Worship

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land – 2nd Chronicles 7:12.

Solomon had finished building the Temple, and he was dedicating the Temple to God. To dedicate something is to  set apart a place, object, or person for an exclusive purpose. The purpose of dedicating the Temple was to be a place of worship. The Temple was a holy place where the Spirit of the Living God reside. Solomon prayed to God for provisions for the people when they had sinned. God answered Solomon with four conditions for forgiveness (1) humble themselves by admitting to their sins. (2) pray to God, asking for forgiveness, (3) seek God continually, (4) turn from sinful behavior Today, God doesn’t live in a Temples of clay, but He resides in the body of the believer; and the instructions that were given then go for us today as the people of God. This is why we have been instructed to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. You couldn’t bring everything in the Temple  because the Temple was holy.  Our bodies are the temple of God and He has instructed what to put in the Temple, and what to take out of the Temple, the Bible is our instruction to leave earth to go to heaven.

Those who profess to be Christians, should have a repenting heart. We should check ourselves daily against the Word of God to see if we have sinned against God, in word, deed or thought. When we repent of our sins, and turn from them, God will forgive and hear our prayers. We need to stop comparing ourselves with other Christians and other denomination and start comparing ourselves with the Word of God, there we will always find a place where we can improve our dedication to God. To worship Him is to honor and submit to His instructions.

Every Christian should have place that’s been dedicated to God to worship Him in prayer and praise, it could be your bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen, your automobile. There should be a place set apart, where you take time in prayer, communicating with your Father, a place where you can praise Him in prayer, a place where there will be no interruption, just you and your Father, worshiping Him from your holy temple.
