The Family Hear Counseling
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt me saved, and thy house (household) Acts 16:31
Paul and Silas were imprisoned at Philippi because of their teaching of the gospel. While in prison Paul and Silas prayed and sung praises to God. They didn’t allow their circumstance to keep them from praying or praising God. As they prayed and praised God the other prisoners heard them. They prayed and praised God until they got His attention and He sent an angel to free them from prison. The guard awaken and saw the prison doors opened and assumed the prisoners had fled, but Paul assured him that all of them were there, no one left even though their chains had been broken. When the guard saw what occurred, he knew this was the hand of God, and he wanted to know what must he do to be saved. Paul and Silas instructed him to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and he would be saved and his household. The household indicates our family. God has always been concerned about family. Sometimes we wonder when we receive salvation why haven’t our spouse and children received it. Don’t worry or lose faith. God’s word will never return to Him void. His written word has given us a promise, after He save us, He’s going to bring the family in. It may not be the way we desire, and it may seem as though its taking for ever, but God will never fall short of His word. This scripture wasn’t just for the keeper of the prison, but its for us and our children (For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call – Acts 2:39).
Prison is a place of confinement and restriction, and that’s what sin does to those who reject the Word of God, but Jesus have given us the ministry of reconciliation, and it’s our responsibility to pray to the Father for our spouse and children until the prayer has been answered. The will of God is for our family to be saved and through our dedication to the Father and His Son, our prayers will be answered (The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much – James 5:16a). No matter what our family may be involved in, we must believe God is Greater, and He can change the heart of anyone. Fervent, indicates no giving up, believing God’s word no matter what it look or feels like. When our prayer is in continuance, we get the attention of God for our faith, our intercessory for the souls of our family. Don’t give up, keep fasting, keep praying for your family and receive the answers to your prayers.
