Christmas

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Christmas is an exciting and joyful time of the year for most, but there are some who go into depression because of  loneliness, they are either single, widowed or divorced. Others have  anxiety because they don’t have the funds to buy for themselves and for others. Then it’s those who despise Christmas because it makes them think about the celebration of  Jesus’  birth. The majority have agreed to take Christmas and make it a “Holiday” rather than the celebration of  the birth of Jesus, they have taken the Christ out of Christmas.

No matter what religion a person practice; they may deny, reject, despise, and scorn the name of Jesus, but it doesn’t take away from the Savior being born and through Him and Him only shall one be saved from their sins. When God created man, He created man in the image of God, not by nationality or religion. There isn’t a god for each nationality, but there is a God who created humanity, and because He is the creator of humanity, He’s the God of heaven and earth whether people accept or deny Him, He will still be God!

Man created religion, God created salvation by giving His Son Jesus to die for our sins. All the different god’s people are serving, none of them can give them entrance into heaven, none of them can give them permission to enter into the presence of God. People are serving gods that cannot heal, give peace, protect or provide for them. People serve gods who they cannot commune with and their god can’t commune with them. People serve gods who haven’t made a change in their thinking or in their lives.

Jesus came to restore our relationship with the Father. He didn’t come to beat us over the head to make  us receive Him and neither should we beat others with the gospel of Christ. They have the right to reject Him if they desire to do so. As Christians, we cannot allow the world to form our thinking as Christians but be transformed by the renewing of our minds with the word of  God. Our biggest testimony is not how many scriptures we can quote, but can we live by the scriptures we quote. Can they see a difference in our character, speech, and conduct than that of what they see in others?

Christmas is not about how many gifts we can receive or how many we can give. Christmas is about the celebration of our Lord and Savior. No, Jesus wasn’t born on December 25th, but that’s the day our  World Leaders at one time, set aside to reverence Jesus’ birth. There was a time you could actually feel a difference in the atmosphere, the peace of God hovering over the earth, but because people have turned Christmas into a day of merchandising; what they want and what they gave, we have taken out Jesus and placed “I” rather than “Him”! Many have stop saying have a Merry Christmas, but they will say “Happy Holiday”.

God gave us the greatest gift one can give, and that was His Son, Jesus the Christ of God. Jesus knew He would be rejected by His own nationality, He knew He would be rejected, and scorn by those who believe He was just a mere man, but Jesus loved His Father and His Father’s  people so much until He was willing to die for the sins of the world.

You may not be able to give the way you desire , but its one thing you can give, and it doesn’t cost you anything and that’s love. Love yourself,  love others and most of all,  love the one who gave His life in order for you to have a life. If you have a sound mind, you’re blessed. If you have a roof over your head, He’s providing you with shelter. If you have a family, He has given you gifts. If you have a job, He gave you employment. They couldn’t have hired you if  God’s favor wasn’t with you. If you have a car, He gave you the desire of your heart. If you can clothe and bath yourself, He has given you the mobility to do so.  If you don’t have money to purchase a gift, pray for the person you desire to give a gift. If you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior minister to others about the free gift that will last for eternity. If you’re breathing and you’re not hooked up to an oxygen machine, remind yourself, it’s God breathe of life!

For those who feel lonely, know that God is watching you, and He’s with you although you may not see Him, if you have a relationship with Him, you can feel His presence. Whether than feeling lonely, take the time and see what you can do for someone else, even if,  it’s only a smile, a drop of coins in a homeless person cup, or taking someone out to breakfast who cannot afford it themselves. That’s what Christmas is about, showing concern and compassion for someone else other than ourselves and our love ones, give the gift of Christmas, which is love!
