If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established – Isaiah 7:9
It’s believing the Word that will cause believers to be established, but some believers talk more about their weak faith and their failures than they do about what God says in His Word about them.As Christians, we need to study what is the new birth, what does it consist of in the mind of God. The Bible says that in the new birth you became a new creature in Christ (Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new – 2nd Corinthians 5:17). To get a better understanding of your new life, read the Epistles, look for Scriptures that reveal who you are in Christ Jesus. For example, (According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue – 2nd Peter 1:3). Go through the New Testament and look up all the verses that included the phrases, “in Him, “in Christ”, and in “in whom”. Each of those verses tells you something about who you are or what you possess in the new birth. As you believe God’s Word and place your faith on what God says about who you are in Christ, you will keep your heart strong and established in the midst of life’s trials and temptations.
Just because one has become a Christian does not mean temptation will not come, this is why the Bible instructs the believer, temptation does not come from God (Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed – James 1:13-14). Temptation comes from Satan, and long as you’re living, he’s going to bring temptations, but as a Christian, God has given you everything you need to resist Satan. Temptation comes to new converts as well as those that are pioneers in the Lord. As Christians, we have no business involving ourselves in worldly activities, this is why it is so important for Christians to read their Bibles to know what God expects out of them as well as what the Christian can expect from God.
We have dual citizenship, in this world and the spiritual world. We’re tripartite, spirit, soul, and body. We communicate with God with our spirit our soul and body communicate with the world. But God wants all three to be subject to His Word, this is why Apostle Paul prayer was for the Christian (And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ – 1st Thessalonians 5:23). We have responsibilities to God, and God has responsibilities to the Christian as being His children (But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:19). Just as an earthly father provides for his children, our Heavenly Father will supply our needs. God is responsible for providing and protecting what belongs to Him.
Being established in the Word of God is like anything else we want to be successful in, we must read it, apply it, and most of all believe it. Many who are professing to be Christians really haven’t experienced the new birth. When one experience the new birth, they will receive salvation with a spiritual change in their spirit. No one will have to tell them they are saved they will know within themselves there has been a change in their heart, mind, and spirit. What once, gave you enjoyment, will no longer be pleasurable when it’s contrary to the Word of God. This happens because the person has been activated in the spiritual realm, they have been connected with the Spirit of the Living God. The spiritual connection has to be activated just like a credit card before you can use it, you have to activate it, same spiritually, in order to set in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, salvation must be activated in the heart then it will be activated in the spirit.
No one that has an encounter with the Lord, will be the same. Every time we come into His presence there is a spiritual change in us. No matter how long one has been saved, each encounter with the Lord will bring about a spiritual change. The more we come into His presence the more we want to submit ourselves to His Word to have access to His presence. One can’t submit to the Word of God if they don’t know the Word of God. Read the Bible get an understanding of who you really are, learn what your privileges are as a child of God. God holds you responsible for knowing His Word and being committed to His Word. Being established in the Word of God will assist you when trials and tribulations come. Your faith in His Word will give you peace when everything around you is chaotic. Reading and studying the Word of God will establish your faith and your walk with the Lord. When you become established in His Word, you become established in Him, His Word is Him.
