And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it – John 14:13-14.

Ask, seek and knock are suggesting both perseverance and frequent prayer. Many times as Christians we look to other sources other than God to supply our needs.  We want our prayers answered quickly so rather than waiting on God, some Christians are going to palm readers, spiritualist, calling psyche lines, attending churches who have false prophets ministering to the people waiting in $100.00; $50.00 and $20.00 lines to hear a lie.

Anytime we go outside of God looking for answers, we’re tapping into Satan for an answer and allowing him to supply our needs. Palm readers, spiritualist, psyche readers are not from God, but of Satan (There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard or a necromancer {divination by alleged communication with the dead} – Deuteronomy 18:10-11).

There are Christians who faithfully read their horoscope, but will not be as faithful to God in seeking Him for their future by prayer and looking into His Word to see if what they are asking for is according to the will of God.  Consulting people with familiar spirits, trying to find out your future or who will be your spouse is opening doors for your destruction. First of all, no one knows the future, but God. If people who claim to be able to tell your future could; they wouldn’t have to advertise themselves, their works would do it for them. It’s also dangerous if we faithfully seek for someone to prophesy to us because Satan has his people in the church waiting for someone they can deviate from serving the true and living God. Many have turned from serving the Lord because someone prophesied a lie to them; turned their life to a living hell and they blame God because of what they received from someone they were seeking rather than seeking God (I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying , I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? Yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart – Jeremiah 23:25-26). Just as they lied in the time of the prophet Jeremiah, there are false prophets in the church sent by Satan to deceive the people of God who aren’t seeking God but seeking to hear from God through someone else.

Jesus is soon to come and Satan has bumped up his tricks and schemes to deviate the Christian from serving God with their whole hearts. Some Christians are spiritually drunk; when someone is drunk they aren’t aware of what is happening to them until they awaken. Spiritually blinded eyes and ears need to be open. We need to know about Satan the same way we know about God. In order for us to have faith in God, we must first get to know Him, it’s the same way with Satan, we need to know about his trick and schemes, we need know when he is trying to convince us to do the opposite of what God has instructed us. We need to know when God is talking, Satan and our spirits; because they all talk to us.

Just as God has different methods of talking to us, Satan has different methods of talking to us as well. When it’s time to pray, Satan will whisper to you why you shouldn’t pray. If you read the Bible, he will bombard your mind with different thoughts so you will not comprehend or remember what you read. Satan will keep you busy or tired so that you will not read or pray because he knows these are your spiritual weapons. He will make you think about things people said or did to you and before you know it; you’re hurt or angry and you will not pray or read the Bible because your mind is on something that is distracting you from seeking God.

Satan knows God is our source, that’s why he continues to convince us to do everything but pray and study God’s Word.  Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy; but in order for us to stop his plan, we must be sensitive to his voice and to his spirit. God has given us a weapon and our weapon is prayer and using the blood of Jesus against Satan and his host.  We’re in a spiritual battle whether we know it or not. Satan’s plan is to stop you from entering into the promised land. Just as God instructed the children of Israel He had given them a land flowing with milk and honey, but in order for them to receive what God had for them, they had to fight the giants in the land.

Your giant maybe fear, unbelief, anger, unforgiveness, hurt; whatever is your giant, God is the source for conquering your giant. Whatever your need is, God is the source. Prayer is asking God to supply your need whether it’s physical, mentally, financially, or a broken relationship or seeking a spouse, God is the source for supplying what we have need of as well as our desires. In order to receive from God, we must seek Him; and we do that by prayer and being thankful for what we have already received of Him. It’s God desire to give you what you need as well as what you desire, but as His people, we must follow His instructions and His instructions are His Words found in His instruction manual called the Bible.

Because of the economic crisis; some Christians are just as fearful as the unbeliever. It’s God’s responsibility to provide for His children. Your job is not your source, God is your source, for your job resource. Education is good, but if God is not in it, education cannot open up a door of employment, but God can open doors where education can’t. Satan is doing a lot of talking now by speaking lies such as God doesn’t care, God is angry with you. If God is concerned about you, why are you going through what you’re going through? There is nothing going on in your life God is not aware of or it’s a surprise to Him. Some things occurring in our life is because of doors we have opened, things and people we shouldn’t have allowed in our life and it’s going to take God to get what’s in our life out of our life and it comes through us desiring to be made whole through God’s plan for us.

God is for you and not against you; God wants the best for you. If God has you at the potter’s wheel, allow Him to finish priming and molding you. Sins you know you have committed, ask God to forgive you, and don’t return to that sin. People you know you have hurt, if it’s possible, ask them to forgive you. Every door you have open for Satan, ask God to help you close those doors and don’t reopen them. Know that God is your source of everything you need!
