By faith, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning the things to come. By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshiped, leaning upon the top of his staff – Hebrews 11:20:21

Children are a blessing to their parents, they are gifts from God. Children also need blessings from their parents, and they need God’s blessings above all. God intended that faithful parents would be one of the main conduits of His blessings.Just as Isaac and Jacob spoke blessings over their children, we too can speak blessing into the lives of our children. God has given parents authority over their children, and as having authority we can speak blessing into the lives of our children. As parents whether our children are young or old, it’s never too late to begin to speak blessings into their lives.

Toys, money, words of encouragement, praises, love or gifts are the highest gifts a parent can give to their children, but the best blessing is for a parent to engrave on the hearts and minds of their children is the Word of God. We should take time daily to pray with our children, speak the Word of God into their lives daily. Teach them to reverence the Word of God, teach them how to pray and be thankful. As parents its our responsibility to live a life that will manifest our belief in God and His Son. As we live according to the Word of God, we have the authority from God to speak blessings and to fight for our children in the spirit whether they are young or old.
