Marriage is Symbolic of the Church

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and the two shall be one flesh (Ephesians 5:31).

Marriage was ordained by God in the Garden of Eden between Adam and Eve. Every since Satan convinced Eve to disobey God and both her and her husband ate of the forbidden fruit it has been Satan’s goal to destroy the human race. Satan comes in different disguises to steal, kill and destroy physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially, educationally as well as relationships. His main goal is to destroy individuals before and after they come into a relationship with God. Marriage is symbolic of the church, the relationship of Christ to His church is an illustration of that of a husband to his wife. A mutually supportive attitude must be characterize by both husband and wife if they are to succeed in building a harmonious home.

Marriage shouldn’t be over after the honeymoon, a marriage will be tried and if the love is not agape love, couples will fall out of  love with one another because it wasn’t true love. True love never dies neither does it give up on an individual. Jesus died for the church, and couples must be like-wise with their dedication to their spouse. It was the love of  the Father that drew us to Him, and we should be an example of our Father that we should be able to draw ours spouses with loving-kindness. Marriage have been fought against by pornography, adultery, fornication, couples willing to live together, but not make the marriage vow that comes with commitment.

Any time someone resists against the ordination of marriage that God ordained is being used by Satan, he fought against the unity in the Garden of Eden and he is still fighting against marriage because its an example of the church. Jesus instructed Peter “Upon this rock, I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”.  The Bible speaks of the believer as the Bride of Christ; Jesus didn’t say Hell wouldn’t come against the church, He said it wouldn’t prevail. We have to have the same mind-set with our marriage, hell may come against it, but it will not prevail.

Whoever and whatever comes against your marriage is a messenger of Satan, your’re not fighting against the individual, but you’re fighting against the spirits that’s coming against your marriage through the individual.  As you do the right thing towards God and your spouse, God will perfect that which concerns you. Many divorces could have been avoided if someone would have been willing to hold on through the test of time and willing to wait and allow God to make every crooked way straight in their marriage.  Don’t give up on your marriage, give it to God and allow Him to direct your way, and as you do it God’s way; whether you be reconcile with your spouse or not, you will come out having the victory because you were willing to wait on God and as that door was or has been closed, God will open another door, better than the one that was closed (Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder {between} Matthew 19:6).
