The Name of Jesus
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son – John 14:13.
Many times as Christians we just sort of “skim” over the Word of God, we miss the impact of what the Word is saying. We don’t ponder over what we have read so that the Holy Spirit can give us the spiritual revelation of God’s powerful Word.
Everything for the Christian to win is in the Word of God, how to fight the spiritual battle that every Christian is in. How to defeat the adversary with the Word of God. “Ask implies a demand for something due”. The Early Church or believers used healing as a means of advertising the Gospel as a means of blessing and helping people.
Jesus instructed His disciples then and now to ask the Father in His name. No other name will get your prayers answered, no other name will Satan come subject to (Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a “Name” above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father – Philippians 2:9-11). The name of Jesus belongs to you as a Christian to use.
Many Christians believe in angels, but they don’t believe in demons. They want to hear about angels, but they don’t want to hear about demons and this is why they have been in bondage to sin being influenced by demonic spirits. Christians should not be having depression and oppression when they have truly submitted themselves to God. If they know their bodies belong to Jesus, He paid the price, so their bodies don’t belong to Satan and he has no authority over it. This is when Jesus’ name should be used to demand Satan to lose your mind.
The battle is in the mind and this is were Satan attacks; if he can get your mind to come subject to his attack every other part of your body will come subject to him rather than the Word of God. If Christians don’t know the Word of God, how can they speak the Word over their bodies, mind, and circumstances? Many Christians have been religiously brainwashed instead of the New Testament taught. Christians need to know the authority God has given them in His Sons name, believe and exercise it.
Authority is in the name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus. We can’t fight a spiritual battle physically, but we can fight and win with the name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus. Attending Bible Study, and Sunday School is important for Christians who desire to be taught the Word of God, and only through the Word of God can we fight and win. True Christianity comes with a volunteer to be in battle, it’s not a choice, it comes automatically. As soon as a Christian decides to submit themselves completely to God and His Word, Satan attacks to make them lose faith and to give in.
Those that know their God and His Word will fight and win. The Holy Spirit will give them instructions on what the adversary is doing and what they need to do to defeat him. The Word of God must be in the Christian for the Holy Spirit to give them what to speak. If nothing is in them, the Holy Spirit can’t give them what they don’t have. Take time and commune with the Father, read and study the Word of God, know that He that dwells within you is greater than Satan and his co-host.
