Eagle Christians

He giveth power to the faint (weak), and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint – Isaiah 40:29-31.

Eagles are strong and fearless; by looking at the lifestyle of an eagle, we can learn valuable lessons that will enable us to soar above any storm and issues that come our way.  Eagles build their nests on the rock high atop mountains and from there they are able to weather the elements.  As Christians, we should be able to weather storms and issues without losing faith, without backsliding.

We don’t have to be afraid of the circumstances and issues that life brings, you can always be a peace because the Bible says there is no fear in him whose mind is stayed on the Lord (Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee – Isaiah 26:3). Perfect peace goes beyond human comprehension; it’s the peace Jesus said He would give to those who believed on Him (Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid – John 14:27).  “Mind stayed on Him” means to lean on God in total confidence and security.  It’s left up to the Christian how they will react to the storms of life.  It’s their decision whether they will flee in terror or begin to lose faith asking God ” Why is this happening to me? It’s happening to draw you closer to Him, it’s happening to destroy stuff in your soul and in your spirit that does line up with the Word of God.

We can rise to victory in every area of our life including when death comes.  Faith does not mean one will never suffer, will not have a need. If everything was perfect daily, we wouldn’t need God, we wouldn’t have our faith in Him.  He allows storms and issues to come in our lives to build our faith in Him and not what we’re going through.  The Bible often uses nature to teach practical lessons from one of God’s majestic creatures, the eagle.  The eagle has certain characteristics that set it apart from all other birds.  No matter how bad a storm maybe the eagle will defy the storm, sometimes even no matter how boisterous it maybe the eagle will fly anyway. Even though there maybe turbulence, and the risk of being destroyed he flies anyway, why? Because he has confidence in knowing what he is capable of doing.  It’s normal for us to get tired and weary after doing something for a long period of time.  Our natural strength and abilities will fail because they are limited.  They can only sustain us for awhile, they can’t give us lasting momentum, but the power of God that dwells inside of us can (Ye are of God little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world – 1st John 4:4!  Your ability to soar doesn’t come from your strength but the strength of God (Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of host – Zecharia 4:6b).  It’s the strength of God that enables us to defy the adversary and his host.

In the storms and issues of life, we can be like others and flee in terror or we can be like an eagle staring the storm in the face as we use our wings of faith, prayer, praise and fasting to lift us above the clouds into the realm of peace and tranquility. Satan will try to throw every thing he can at you, every dart he can muster to try to influence you to run and lose your faith and except fear. Be an eagle Christian, go in strength, be fearless, be encouraged and have faith in God!
