Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger – Zephaniah 2:3.
The prophet’s description of approaching judgments wasn’t to drive the people to despair but to drive them to God. It wasn’t to frighten them out of their wits but out of their sins. There is a vast difference between the prophets of the Bible and some of today’s prophets.
The Old and New Testament prophets warned the people of God’s upcoming judgment, whereas some of today’s prophets tell the people what they want to hear: ” God’s going to bless you with a spouse, car, home, and finances.”
God cares about our well-being, that’s why He gave the Apostle Paul an unction to write, but my God shall supply all of your needs (But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:19). Needs are different from desires, but He also has promised us, if we delight ourselves in Him, He will give us the desires of our heart (Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart – Psalm 37:4). We have been instructed to commit everything we have and do to Him. We entrust Him with everything, our lives, families, jobs, and possessions, to His control and guidance.
Many want the blessings of the Lord but don’t want to do what’s needed to get them. Don’t be fooled; Satan will bless you to keep you bound in slavery, but the blessings of the Lord will make you rich, and He adds no sorrow to it. The Bible is God’s law for everyone professing to be a Christian. We can’t adhere to some Scriptures and omit what we don’t want to adhere to.
Divine judgment is a significant theme in the prophets. They weren’t going to different cities and states to inform the people of God’s blessings, no matter how the person had rejected or willfully disobeyed the Word of God. Every Christian familiar with the Word of God knows there will be a day of divine judgment, and the Bible is our preparation for that day to escape the wrath of God.
As much as God loves His people, there will be a day of judgment; this is why it is so critical for Christians to read and study the Word of God. On the day of judgment, there will be no excuses why we didn’t read the Bible or why we didn’t submit to His Word. His love will have nothing to do with the day of judgment. This is why we, as Christians, should admonish people to give themselves entirely to the Lord. Many are attending church, but it is hell-bound; attending church and being the church are two different things.
The Bible gives the believer instructions on what the church of Christ should be like; it’s our advantage to seek the Word of God to know what He expects from us as His church. Our salvation is personal; every one of us will have to stand before the judgment seat of Christ (So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God – Romans 14:12). Jesus died and freed us from sin (Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness – Romans 6:18).
We become servants of righteousness when we conform to His Word and will. The problem with so many Christians is that they have become conformed to the world and not the Word of God. Many talk like the world, dress like the world, and go places like the people and actions of the world. Christians are in the world, but they not of the world when they become Christians (They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world – John 17:16.).
It’s not God’s desire for anyone to perish; this is why He gave His Son for ransom for the sins of the world. Through Jesus, we have been reconciled to the Father; we were brought out of darkness into the marvelous likeness of the Father. Jesus didn’t die for Christians to continue to practice sin. We can’t serve God and Satan. Whoever we worship and serve is who we are (Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servant ye are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or obedience to unto righteousness – Romans 6:16). God does not have parttime servants, either we are He’s or Satan.
God’s judgment will be for those who heard His Word and rejected His Word, Those He gave salvation to, and they rejected it or lived partially according to the Word of God and partially according to the world. There will be no excuse for why one didn’t live according to His Word when He has given them a Bible to read, a minister who is teaching and preaching the Word, and relatives who are saved, giving them an example of how to live a godly lifestyle.
Judgment is coming upon all the world; will you be hidden in Christ when it comes?

Divine Judgment
Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger – Zephaniah 2:3.
