Love One Another

And a new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another – John 13:34-35.

The word ‘love’ is used often, but it’s often used as a daily phrase with no meaning behind it; it has become just a word, but love is an action word.  As chaotic as the world is, if love were truly in the hearts of people as often as they use the word, the world would be much better.

True love is unconditional; no matter what a person does or does not do, genuine love is still in action. Love is not just for Christians, but it is something that all humans should have for one another. Love is not about your nationality, financial status, or educational status; love comes from the heart, and when genuine love is not in the heart, it brings forth violence, racism, hatred, discrimination, injustice, as well as murder.

Love has to be taught and then practiced. Love should start in the home between husband and wife, and then extended to the children. Even if it’s a single-parent home, love should be taught and then put into practice; what’s practiced in the home will bring forth love to the neighborhood, communities, schools, places of employment, churches, and the entire world.

Sadly to say, a person can’t walk in their community without being afraid they will be robbed, raped or murdered, and this is humans carrying out this act against another human being. Gangs and drug dealers have a territory they haven’t purchased. Children sold as sex slaves, it’s inhumane for a person to do that to a child. Whether or not a person believes in God, He is the only source that can change the problems that are worldwide.

True love will make one seek the Father in prayer for a change of heart in people. When people’s hearts change, hatred would be replaced with love, and discrimination would be replaced with seeing others as equal to you.

All the evil in the world could be changed if people would truly begin to pray. There’s no way one can love God and hate another human being. People have not comprehended the power of prayer; prayer changes the individual who is praying, and it will change the world.

If professing Christians were to begin to pray for the world’s problems, there would be a change, but many in the body of Christ don’t have genuine love because they don’t have the Spirit of God residing in them. There is no way God can indwell within a person and they don’t have love.

God is love, and those who truly have Him as their God and Father, they have genuine love for every human being. Love can be taught as well as practiced if a person doesn’t believe in God. As love is a practice, it will become genuine. Yes, there are more non-Christians than Christians, but if the Christians begin to love, their love can change the world. We have two commandments: love God, and love one another. Why is it so hard for people to do these two commandments?
