Ask, seek and knock are suggesting both perseverance and frequent prayer. Introduction

The book of Exodus opens with the people of Israel having suffered as Egyptian slaves for centuries.  God heard their cries of distress and sent Moses to be their deliverer.  After witnessing ten devastating plagues on the Egyptians, Pharaoh finally lets the Israelites leave Egypt.  Encamped at the foot of Mount Sinai, Israel receives not only the Ten Commandments but also many other laws and regulations.  Soon after arriving at Mount Sinai, Moses ascended to the mountain.  There he talked with God and was given the Ten Commandments to instruct the Israelites, the people of God in how to worship and serve God. Bible Study – John Chapter 7 Verses 31-40

John 7:31 – And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done? Contrast to the leaders, many of the Jewish people believed because of the miracles Jesus performed.  Even when the gospel meets with opposition there may yet be a great deal of good done.  These were Jewish leaders who did not believe whereas the Samaritans did.
