John 1:13 – Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Born implies a birth, blood indicating one’s family lineage or national heritage. Heritage does not bring about the New Birth. The New Birth is not of human origin, but it is spiritual and supernatural, done only by God.
All the children of God are born through the marvelous work of God; all that are adopted are regenerated. It’s not of blood, not the will of the flesh, nor of corruptible seed. We do not become the children of God as we become the children of our natural parents. Grace does not run in the blood as corruption does. It is not produced by the natural power of our own will, it is the grace of God that makes us willing to be His. The rebirth is of God and not of ourselves to be willingly to be transformed, true believers are born of God, and not of the will of man, that is, something done by another individual.

Bible Study – John Chapter 1 Verses 7-12
John 1:7 – The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light that all men through Him might believe.
To bear witness means “to testify” or to declare. Believe means “to trust”. John was to declare that Jesus was the Messiah the One they had read about in the Old Testament that was to come. John uses the word trust almost one hundred times in his gospel to express what must take place for a person to receive the gift of eternal life. John was the God-appointed messenger to announce the arrival of Jesus. He was a fearless confronter, he was known for his remarkable life-style, and his uncompromising.

Bible Study, John Chapter 1 Verses 4-6
John 1:4 – In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Salvation and deliverance is through Jesus Christ, no other name can one be saved by. Jesus is the light that shines in darkness. His light draws people that are in darkness to Him.
In John’s writings, life represents salvation and deliverance through Jesus Christ. Light denotes Jesus’ revelation of God which call men to accountability. Why is the life that was in Christ “the light of men”? Because death brings eternal darkness, and only Christ’s eternal life planted in us will keep us alive in His new kingdom for eternity. Jesus Christ is eternally alive because He is God. He came to earth to offer mankind the hope and light of His eternal life. It can’t be bought, only received as a gift. Jesus gives it only to those who want it, those who want to live the way God’s citizens will live in His future eternal kingdom.
