Golden Text: But this man, because He continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him – Hebrews 7:24-25.
Hebrews 7:1 – For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him. Melchizedek was the priest of the most high God, his name means “King of righteousness” and Salem (Jerusalem) means “Peace”. Melchizedek was a king and priest of God who blessed Abraham after he won a battle with kings. In return, Abraham gave Melchizedek a tithe of the spoils, showing that Abraham recognized Melchizedek as a superior. The author previously asserted that Christ’s priesthood is like that of Melchizedek, now he speaks of Melchizedek of who he is and where’s he’s from.
Hebrews 7:2 – To whom also Abraham gave tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is King of peace. It begins with Abraham returning from battling with eastern kings who had taken Sodom and Gomorrah by force and also had taken captives, including Abraham’s nephew, Lot. Abraham and his servants defeated them and rescued the captives, recovered the goods and returned to Canaan. At Abraham’s return is when he was met by the king of Salem, Melchizedek. Abraham gives Melchizedek a tenth of all the spoils of the battle. His reverence for Melchizedek shows his greatness by the title of his name King of righteousness, and King of Salem meaning “King of peace” which symbolizes the nature of Christ who combines these two virtues in His Person and rule. Melchizedek priesthood was similar to Jesus’ priesthood righteousness and peace, Jesus’ Priesthood is forever, Melchizedek’s priesthood is presented as if it were forever, since the Bible says nothing about any successors. Prayer of Agreement
Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven – Matthew 18:19.
Heavenly Father, as we come before You today, we come with repenting hearts, asking You to forgive us of any sins we may have committed against You knowingly and unknowingly. We pray today that You would restore unto us the hunger we had for You when we first received salvation. Give us a hunger and thirst for righteousness, a hunger and a thirst to please You. We pray for Your Word to abide in us, and we abide in Your Word. Restore unto us the joy of our salvation, let Your peace abide in our hearts and minds. Revive our spirit, and let revival start in our hearts and that it may flow to the unbelievers and draw them to You. Read More

Bible Study John Chapter 1 – Verse 1-3
John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
In the beginning with God signifies the perfect fellowship between God the Father, and God the Son in eternity. Jesus is the Son of God, but He is also God. God declared His Son to be God (But unto the Son, He saith, Thy throne, O, God is for ever and ever: A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom -Hebrews 1:8.
