False Teaching
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables – 2nd Timothy 4:3-4.
Preaching is the God-ordained means to prevent defection from the truth. Teachers who appeal to itching ears tell people what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. Those who don’t want to hear the truth or reject the truth will have a rude awakening when the Son of God returns or when its time to exit life as we know it and enter into eternal life whether it’s heaven or hell. Confession
