The Harvest

Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest – Matthew 9:38

Today’s Christian’s are the modern-day disciples of Jesus Christ. Just as He commissioned the twelve disciples to go into the world and preach the Gospel, He has also called every Christian to go and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ministering is not always behind the pulpit; many will not enter into a church until the disciple compel them through the Spirit of God drawing them to Him through the disciple.

Ministering is not always with words, it can come through our behavior and character to draw others to the Lord. Jesus needs workers who know how to deal with people’s problems. We can comfort others and show them the way to live because we have been helped with our problems by God and His laborers. We should have the same compassion with unbelievers as God had on us. He didn’t beat us or scold us, but with loving kindness He drew us.

We, the people of God, need to come out from the four walls of the church and go to the harvest which are the hospitals, nursing homes, jails, prisons, mental institutions, senior citizens homes, hospice centers, street ministering through tracts. Satan has fooled the body of Christ and the church, auxiliaries such as these are no longer needed, but they are, and in order for the power of God to be manifested to the harvest, the body of Christ must be in submission to the Word of God. Many Christians are powerless because they have not received the gift that gives them power to minister to the lost (But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is come upon you: and ye shall be witness unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth – Acts 1:8).

When the Gifts of the Spirit is being manifested through Christians, it’s the Spirit of God that draws unbelievers. When the Gifts of the Spirit is in manifestation, it blesses both the believer and the unbeliever. In order to do the work Jesus have commissioned the Christian. We must become one with Him and the Father (Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode (home) with him – John 14:23) As we submit to His Word, then we become one with Jesus and the Father (That they all may be one as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me (John 17:21). In order to minister effectively we must have the Gift of the Holy Spirit that gives the believer power. When the Holy Spirit is abiding in the believer, this  is when  the believer will also desire not to see any man perish, and through the Spirit and led by the Spirit is when we will come from out of the four walls of the church, and go into the harvest (Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few: Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest – Matthew 9:37-38).
