There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing; there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches – Proverbs 13:7.
We can be rich financially and be spiritually bankrupt. There is nothing wrong with being rich. Solomon was one of the riches man that lived, but he sought to please God with his whole heart; until he deviated from the principals his father had taught him as well as the instructions God had given Him.
Money brings opportunities and power, but it also has many negative side effects. Sometimes we seek to get money more than we seek to have fellowship with our Father. What would it gain a man to gain the whole world, and lose his own soul, or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? The Bible states, money is the answer to all things, but we have to put things in prospective. If we seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness, everything else would be given to us, and by us seeking the kingdom of God, wisdom would direct us how to be rich spiritually and have above and beyond what we need financially; mind you, everyone is not going to be rich financially, but we can be rich spiritually.
