Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work – Proverbs 24:29
It’s hard to turn the other cheek when someone has wrong us or harmed us in any form. As we pray and confess what we feel towards others, and ask for the help of the Father, He will give us the grace we need to not want to do to them what they did to us.
Anytime we take matters in own hand to resolve them, they usually come out worse than what was done towards us because we didn’t allow God to take care of it for us.
Yes, there are times we do have to speak up and give people boundaries, but there are also times when we need to wait on God and allow Him to give us directions or allow Him to deal with the person Himself.
The Word of God instructs the believer to feed their enemy, if his enemy is hungry, if they thirst, to give them a drink of water and in doing so, we’re allowing God to fight our enemy and His form of retaliation is most effective. We’re are to pray for our enemy, by doing this, we’re returning good for evil. In doing this, we’re acknowledging God to balance all accounts and trusting Him to be the judge.
