Seeking God

But if from thence thou shall seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul – Deuteronomy 4:29

What does it mean to seek the Lord? How do we do it, and what will happen when we do? To seek God you should not allow nothing or anyone to take the time you have dedicated to God. Just as we’re dedicated to our jobs, business, and family; we should be just as dedicated to the One that blessed us with the family, job and business.

God desires our dedication to Him just as much as other desires our dedication. The reason why the children of Israel was always getting in trouble with God is because they were always placing something before God, and as they did so, God considered them as serving another god.

A god is not just bowing to a graven images, but it could be an image of being busy with other things or people and never taking the time to spend with God in prayer, reading His written word to the believer. Did you know you can have such a close relationship with the Lord, that He will visit you in your home and car? Did you know God desires for us to talk to Him and not just when we’re asking for something? We can talk to God about anything, anytime and anywhere, that’s called a relationship. Praising Him in your heart when you can’t speak it out loud. Reading His word and thinking on what He said in His word. When we seek God with our heart, we will find Him and that’s when we will find joy, peace as well as His presence.
