Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come – Jeremiah 9:17
A godly woman doesn’t mind calling out to God, she doesn’t care if her make-up runs, and she doesn’t care how she looks. Her only concern is that she must reach the heart of God, no matter what it takes or how long it takes, she must get His attention in her situation or in other’s circumstances.
Funeral ceremonies and processions were often attended by professional mourning women. Mourning was an important way of showing respect for the dead. The employment of professional mourners represented its importance. Mourners and family members would wail and weep for the dead for a specified period of time.
As Christians our dedication to prayer for the dead should be as the professional mourners. The Bible indicates those that are living in sin are dead spiritually (But she that liveth in pleasures [indulgence] is dead while she liveth – 1st Timothy 5:6 ), the same goes for the male, God has no respect of person. The wages of sin is death and that has nothing to do with the love God has for all His creation. God has given each of us instructions on how He desires for us to live and we can’t live any other way than what He has instructed us to live by.
It’s our Christian responsibility to cry out to God for those we know are living opposite of God’s instructions. We need to cry out until we get into a lamentation mourning for lost souls, then will we touch the heart of God, then will we get His attention.
